“Staff Needs To Learn The Meaning of Hospitality”

This is a modern hotel, and typically European. They serve a decent Breakfast buffet. The room also has free internet, but is kind of small. It is tucked in on a busy street, but cvonvient to the Gaudi Palace and Las Ramblas.

That being said, the Front desk staff was very unhelpful. We needed some help die to the fact, that I had succumbed to a Barcelona problem. I had my pocket picked. They didn't know the way to the police station. They were unable to provide cash to a good Credit card, even though I offered to pay their commission. The overall attitude left me with a bad taste in my mouth, and we will not stay there again!!!

I stayed here for the weekend in May. i couldn't fault the actual hotel; modern, clean and close to everything. Complimentary water fridge is great. Overall I'd recommend this hotel. I'm not sure if it was a particularly busy weekend but the street was really noisy esp from the pub a few doors down. Each night we slept with the tv on to try and drone out the street noise. If you're a light sleeper maybe not the place for you. We were so busy sightseeing that it helped us sleep through the night. Other than that I could fault this hotel.

Extremely good value for Barcelona

Room Tip: Having read other reviews and based on our experience I'd maybe request a back room

Have just returned from a long weekend at said hotel. Staff are very friendly. Rooms relatively modern and spotlessly clean. Great shower! Very good buffet breakfast - both hot and cold choices. Free coffee, cold water and apples in reception area, but a pity that there are not tea/coffee making facilities in room. Very noisy if you have a front facing bedroom - Barcelona is what you expect a very bustly city - so if you sleep lightly I would suggest you request rooms at back. I have to say I do not see why this hotel has actually got a 4 star rating. I stayed a few years back at the Hotel Gaudi which is in the same street and has only 3 stars, and although not as modern the facilities/service appeared to be just as good although the Onix has a small outside pool .Location is superb, as you are just of the main thoroughfare Las Ramblas. The marina and beaches are only a five to ten minute walk away and you are near both underground and bus stops so transport links are very good.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper request back bedrooms.

Onix Liceo is a modern hotel located 3-5 minutes away from Las Ramblas. Despite that, we found it to be very quiet (we were on the 3rd floor). The rooms are clean and modern. There is a small pool, but water was too cold and it would be a waste to spend time there when you have entire Barcelona to see. Free water and apples on 24x7 basis were a nice touch. Reception service was also friendly and efficient.

Had a lovely 3 night break here at the end of September. After lots of research found this hotel which is in a perfect central location for La Ramblas, Catalunya Square and the beach/port area. Literally less than 5 mins walk to the Ramblas itself. We had a room at the back of the hotel, as advised by previous visitors but as was not in peak season don't think noise would have been much of a problem anyway. Booked through lastminute.com and got breakfast included plus some extra discount so was good value. Breakfast was very good, there was a good selection of fresh fruit, cereals, pastries, breads, jams also cold meats plus the usual scrambled egg, sausage etc. Only minus point would be that the safe deposit is not located in the rooms and you have to pay something like a 30 euro deposit plus 5.50 euros a day for the use of it (which is located at reception). Security was good as you had to use your room card to gain access to the hotel so no unwelcome visitors strolling around. Never had a chance to use the very small pool at the back of the hotel but sure it would come in very useful during peak periods when it was very hot. Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a good clean hotel which is located smack bang in the middle of La Ramblas (literally 5 mins walk between 2 metro stations).

Room Tip: Would choose a room at the back of the hotel simply because otherwise you will be staring across at...

Excelllent location for la rambla. Couldn't find fault with anything, except the bed was a bit on the firm side, but that is a personal thing. All in all it suited our purpose perfectly.

This hotel is in a great position just off la Rambla. Free tea and coffee appreciated. We didn't find a safe in the room. Helpful staff and able to leave bags secure before and after checking in and out.
