“A gem of a Bed &Breakfast”
Reviewed November 15, 2010

When we entered the foyer downstairs at Barcino 147 we were greeted and helped upstairs with our luggage. When we arrived upstairs, we were pleasantly surprised to find that Barcino far surpassed our expectations with its gleaming hardwood floors, beautiful carpets and artwork in every room.

It is located on Gran Via across from The Ritz Carlton and close to Plaza Catalunya, Las Ramblas, and Passeig de Gracia. Public transportation is literally 5 mins away but if you like window shopping and people watching you can walk to most places including The Port area, Casa Battlo and Casa Mila.

We stayed in the Piccasso Suite with family members in the Gaudi Suite (next door )so between the 2 suites we had a bathroom to ourselves. We had complete privacy from the rest of the house when we closed the french doors to that area. Our rooms had large windows with breathtaking views of Gran Via. There is also a laptop with free WIFI available for household use centrally located in the kitchen. I loved chatting with the other guests as we readied ourselves for our daily outings and caught up on what we had already done in the city.

We had a wonderfully pleasant and informative conversation with Ferran who made recommendations for an excellent Tapas bar and "must do" sightseeing since it was our first visit to Barcelona.

Staying at Barcino 147 was like being at home. My family and I were in Barcelona to catch a cruise but both Barcelona and Barcino left us wanting to stay longer.

We will definitely be returning and we will only stay at Barcino 147! Thanks Ferran!

We had the Goya room which was very attractive and comfortable. We enjoyed the kitchen area both for breakfast and meeting and talking with other guests who were from all over the world.
A great location close to Catalonia Square, La Rambla, Via Gracia and metro stops. There was shopping , restaurants and night life all within walking distance. And there was a nice little super market just up the street with a good selection of wines. Ferran had many helpful recommendations and he and his staff were very helpful with all of our needs.

We found all of the positive comments to be true. Great place, great location, great staff. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Definitely take Ferran's advice on where to go and where to eat. Barcelona is a great city, with a lot of marvelous things to do and see. We loved every minute of it.

Even though we 3 couples are veteran travelers, Ferran's Barcelonan Orientation 101 was perfect. I have read most of the couples comments and really can't add much other than to say I share the sentiment. Had we asked for more assistance, I have no doubt we would have been rewarded. We stayed 3 nights, our last of 10 in Catalonia, and Ferran's little tips simply made our stay perfect, resturants, etc. I should note, my wife and I stayed in a closet w/ bath on the 6th floor. It was perfect for us as we rise early, come home late, so we don't need space. We need sleep. While our travel companions had rooms both larger and more expensive, we had less noise and bottom line, would do it all over...for three nights, yes. 4 or more...probably need a little more room, JMO. Did I mention Ferran, like, as I reflect, all Catalonians we met, was a gentleman, a scholar and someone we wish we had more time to visit with. And "yes" Ferran, I am reading and enjoying "The Shadow of the Wind" as recommended. Can't wait to get back...........someday. Peace. John and Maude

My 22 year old daughter and I spent a week in Ferran Font’s B&B in Barcelona. The bedrooms were quite large with wonderful art hanging though out the apartment. Ferran, the owner of the B&B and his business partner Antonio, are wonderful hosts! They took my daughter and me on a tour of the city one day which truly showed that one needs more than a week to experience Barcelona. I would highly recommend staying at Ferran’s B&B and look forward to a return visit!

Barcino 147 was a highlight of our trip to Barcelona. The ambience was was warm and friendly. The rooms were beautiful...lots of antiques and beautiful colours. It is well located. Within walking distance to shops, culrural landmarks and great restaurants. The airlines lost our luggage and what could have been a disaster was instead a wonderful experience. The owner, Ferran, ensured that we had an amazing experience. We'll be back to Barcelona and will absolutely stay at Barcino 147!
