My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the hotel for a few night break at the end of October. We can not fault anything with the hotel. It is not a central hotel but is only a short walk to Plaza Catalonia and La Rambla where much of the local action happens. The hotel is very modern and up to date with rooms of a fairly standard. Staff very helpful and all spoke fluent English. Some people have moaned about the bathroom having the see-through wall. There is a button near the sink to close the blinds within the glass wall making this room no different to any other bathroom. We didn't use any hotel facilities, however the pool on the roof terrace would be inviting during the summer season and the room service is not particularly over priced.

We chose not to have breakfast in the hotel. Instead we went to Bellapan, a small, very spanish cafe a few doors down from the hotel (turn left out of front door). Here we paid around 6 euros for 2 drinks and 2 filled croissants. We were warned about the amount of pick pockets around the main tourist areas but as long as you are aware and keep an eye on your belongings, you will be fine. We never saw anything to worry us. I would highly recommend the restaurant 'Taller de Tapas' on La Ramblas. Obviously a tapas restaurant, but fantastic food, good service and a reasonable price. As long as you don't mind walking, it is a nice walk down to the beach front and the marina.

We did not realise that our last day there was a public holiday and therefore all the shops and the market were closed, so just a tip to check for these days before you travel!

Overall we had a good few days in Barcelona and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone!

We stayed here for 5 nights. The location is quite central to everything and easy to get to all the main sights with public transport or by walking. We liked the designer feel of the hotel which extended into the room with lighting options, and an automated blind separating the bathroom from the bedroom. The only thing I really hated was that you couldn't look out the floor to ceiling windows - they had thinly striped patterns covering them entirely for modesty reasons presumably, with the back of the hotel facing a public park and residential buildings. Absolutely loathed them, and I don't think entirely necessary given there are blinds in the room too.

Breakfast was fairly basic (e.g. two cereals, coffee out a machine, limited hot (warm!) options) but fresh and decent enough quality. Reception staff were all very friendly, the room was clean. We had a room at the back of the hotel as we were worried about the street noise at the front, and it was very quiet. We heard more noise from other guests through the room door.

Safe in the room was free to use, and minibar available (no tea-making facility). Air con in the room was one of the best I've experienced - fully functioning and very quiet.

Would happily return.

I stayed at the Soho hotel for 6 nights and absolutely enjoyed my stay. The flight landed at 7 a.m. and we took the Aerobus and got off at the Gran Via-Urgell stop. The hotel is conveniently located as the hotel is quite close to the Aerobus stop and steps away from metro station. My friend and I were so happy that we can checked in a bit earlier as there was room available. Very helpful staff and room are spacious and clean. Walking distance from the hotel to the Plaça de Catalunya and other popular tourist attractions. Supermarket across the street is a good place to stock up some snacks and drinks.

Highly recommended!

We booked SOHO on the strength of the reviews and I have not stayed in any other hotels in BCN so comparisons are difficult. We had great rooms at the rear of the hotel that overlooked the "village square". The rooms by Euro standards were large. The designs of the bathroom were more form than function. They would be better to rip the baths out and just have showers.

The staff were lovely and very helpful. it is not in the thick of it but located in in a very pretty and vibrant area and we tended to eat locally at the numerous cafes and restaurants all very reasonable.

It is close to the Universitat and about a 10 min stroll to La Rambla.

All all in a very pleasant stay

Room Tip: Try and get a room at the rear of the hotel as I imagine there may be a bit of noise at the front

My girlfriend and I stayed in September and we very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel Soho. Although not directly located in the main areas, it was a very short walk to Plaza Catalonia where you can choose your ultimate destination. We got the room with a terrace. The room was fantastic, very spacious for European standards, very modern, smartly furnished, and a wall of window provided a very sexy atmosphere. Although we would recommend this hotel to anyone, we could not bring ourselves to give a top rating due to the following:

1) Our room faced the rear of the hotel, with a not-so-glamorous view of beaten down apartments.
2) The glass wall of the shower/bath tub only covers half of the shower so water would spray everywhere in the bathroom. A common design of European hotels but nevertheless frustrating
3) The room key has to be returned to the front desk every time you exit and enter the hotel. Not a huge deal but I questioned their "security" system - the front desk never asked for an ID before giving us our keys!!!

In all, for the money, the hotel was clean, designed well, and would stay here again for the value.

Room Tip: If getting a terrace room, ask for a room facing the street, not the rear of the hotel
