“Good Location”
Reviewed April 15, 2011

Hi , just booked for my parents last week at this hotel. Which i did not know the result was going to turn out, but since there is the trip advisor i went in to have a look at it . so i booked !!
The hotel looked nice from the pictures and my family said that it was nothing special as a hotel, but hey lisen if you are going for a holiday like my parents did !!! And you are that type of person who enjoy staying out in barcelona CENTER, then this would be good for you otherwise they complained about not having Air-Condition in there Rooms and small Rooms which was a bit uncountable for them, and this was the Family Room and the others was a Room by 2 which was said the same.

This was our worst hotel experience to date. All the staff we met over the weekend were rude. On route to our rooms, we met what looked like homeless alcoholics hanging out on the hotel premises. Come to think about it, we also walked by a few young guys sleeping in the hotel gardens (the gardens are public so anyone can hang out in them - problem was we had to go through those gardens to get to our rooms in what seemed like the getto) There was also a very strong smell of paint.
This can not possible be a 4 star hotel and our rooms did not look like the rooms on the websites photos!!

The hotel is not accessible directly by car. You need to pull your suitcases about 500 metres to the entrance. Internet was never available the 3 days we were there in our room. Rooms are small and very minimalist. Good bathroom. Disappointed in decor and comfort level.

A good deal and great location made this our choice for a short break just before christmas. However in spite of our booking a family room, it was clearly far too small for our family. Once the bunk beds were up and a travel cot put in we could not move around the room at all, not helped by not having any storage either. We also found our bed, which was 2 singles shunted together moved every time we either sat or lay on it, sending anything we put on the bedside flying. We also tried to use the glass shelving above the bed, which was also lighting but the glass shelf kept falling into itself. We did not have the breakfast but found plenty of places to eat no problem.(and plenty of starbucks). I did also ask for a kettle but was only offered a teapot. I bought one at a local store, but advise you bring a travel one as this was an expensive option. The shower was functional but not as flash as it looked with poor water pressure and a shower head that could use some tlc, or replacing!, The clear bonus was having a computer and internet access in the room which allowed us to keep up with news of the weather disruption and enabled us to plan an alternative journey home. (There were no english channels on the tv.) For location it was ideal but for 4 star it definitely lacked some basic attributes to justify this rating.

I had great service from the hotel. The staff were very friendly and the room had excellent facilities for the money I paid. The best thing about the hotel though is the great location. It is very close to La Rambas and the market, restaurants and a supermarket are all close by. Perfect location to make the most of your trip to Barcelona.

I thought the location was great right where the action is but quiet once inside. The previous reviews are fairly accurate. We were there for 8 nights, the beds are very firm (read Hard) my husband liked this, I did not. Not everything worked well every day. I.e. the jetted tub only worked two days, the shower was a little confusing.
The hotel staff was young and not all experienced so sometimes they were helpful and sometimes not.
Overall the location outweighed the problems. We did not buy the breakfast service, there are many options very close that are better.
I would recommend the hotel but only for those who are flexible.

Excellent location, just offthe ramblas. Breakfast were varied but expensive at 15 euros. There is a little courtyard within the hotel that would be nice to sit in if the weather was better. This hotel had terrible reviews from trip advisor before but I was pleasantly surprised. The decor is suffering a bit from too much chip board being used but as long as your not after perfection it shouldn't bother you.
The Tapas Bar across the road has good food and the Cathedral square has plenty of cheap eats. The hotel was very reasonably priced
