Located on a gorgeous street in the centre of Barcelona, this is a gem of a hotel. For the value of this hotel you are getting lovely, clean rooms, charming service and a beautiful roof terrace with a little pool. It is not the hotel for you if you are looking for somewhere where you want to be entertained and spend a lot of time, but if you want to spend most of your time in the city it is ideal.

This hotel is the ideal choice for a trip to Barcelona. It's located in El Born, which in my opinion is the best location in the city , with loads of lovely shops, cafés and bars on your doorstep, it's about 15mins walk from the placa catalunya (where the aerobus drops you off) and easy walking distance to Barceloneta, the beach and the lovely park de la ciutadella. There's a metro station at the top of the road where the hotel is located, making it so easy to get around Barcelona for places that are a bit further out, but we were able to walk most places which was great!
The rooms are basic, but done up really nicely and looked exactly as on the pictures on the hotel website., with free wifi and a safe. We were staying for a long weekend (4 nights) and another friend joined us for one night, for which the hotel was happy to organise an extra bed in our room for only 32.50euros. There was a big fridge on our corridor, with loads of complementary water, which is so much better than the couple of small bottles some hotels provide in your room. The staff were friendly, professional and we felt really safe at the hotel as security is good, but not in your face. The best thing about the hotel however is the gorgeous roof terrace - such a treat for somewhere with such a central location! It was clean and well presented, and great for sunbathing when you have a few hours' downtime! The pool is small but does the job, with really pretty mosaic tiles which are very Barcelona-esque! My recommendation if you want a sun lounger though is to get up there early!!
My only criticisms are tiny - the hairdryer in our room wasn't great, so if you need a good one, take your own! And there are hardly any English channels on the TV, but hopefully you won't need to sit around watching telly as there's plenty of better stuff to be doing!!
All in all, this was a brilliant hotel if you're on a budget, and I will definitely stay again next time I am in Barcelona (hopefully soon!)

We were there in the highest peak of Summer, that's why the room was little over-priced but clean and neat.

The room was quite small and had large curtain overlooking the small street. We liked the free internet connection, it was fast and FREE.

We also liked the free fresh drinking water on the floor and the free to use pc's on the floor.

They top roof diping pool was full of kids and was not impressive at all... I didn't use it for that reason.

It was strange that the room didn't have a fridge (mini-bar)!!! but since we were staying 2 nights, it was not an issue.

The main entrance has an automatic glass door which gets locked at night and guests have to use their cards to get in-out..the reason is that this neighbourhood isn't safe, that what I have been told by the reciptionist and I think he's right!.

The location could not be better....close to the Picasso museum and an area where there are a lot of new designers. In the summer, the pool upstairs is great to have. The rooms are tiny and they charge extra for breakfast, which I always find annoying. But they advertise having free wifi and I think every time I went downstairs I could hear the clerk talking to someone about how to use the wifi. It's terrible and could be easily remedied by making a little investment. The other odd thing--we had to pay upfront when we arrived. Were they afraid we would leave? Maybe we would have if we had known abou the wifi. Oh, there was also the problem of having two twin beds pushed together to make a double bed. I understand the reason, but it's not really a double bed.

Despite the street noise, tight space, & paucity of furniture (no drawers or place to store clothes other than a few hangers), the rooms are cool & clean, the location is fabulous, the hotel staff warm, friendly, helpful, accommodating; the rooftop pool is refreshing, (if ridiculously small), the patio a relaxing place to chill out after sightseeing, especially after dark; & though there are no snacks, coffee/tea pots or fridges in the rooms, availability of complimentary, well stocked liter bottles of water creates a feeling of abundance in an otherwise bare bones operation. As long as you don't get stuck in on of the rooms facing the iron grated alley behind the building I'd definitely stay there again. Though we were annoyed to get stuck in that room, it was totally worth the extra cost for the upgrade to a 5th floor "suite."

Room Tip: See above. Also, the breakfast buffet was worth paying fo (one day, though unnecessary for every day...

I booked this hotel after a lot of research! My friend and I stayed here from 7th - 9th July and it was excellent. Receptionist was very welcoming and told us directions to Las Ramblas (15 min walk)and we went to our room...lovely. Two large windows that opened and had blackout curtains. Wardrobe with hangers and a safe in the bottom, twin beds, luggage rack., bedside tables and lamps. Small table and two chairs. Bathroom was a good size with a window that opened and a large shower which was powerful with plenty of hot water!! We went up to the pool on the top floor and the roof terrace was the hidden gem...fab!!! Small pool but adequate for a dip! loungers, parasols, chairs and shade. it was very relaxing at the end of the day in the sun.

the breakfast was fine - cereals, fruit juices, yogurts, fruit, toast, cooked breakfast etc. all replenished regularly.the hotel was spotless and had water free in fridges- excellent!! also had room regulated air conditioning - added bonus!!

the location is great...near enough to attractions but not in the middle of it all. there are shops around it with graffiti on, dont let this put you off, we felt safe at all times and the people were friendly. the Ramblas are a 15 min walk away (we ambled!!) and it was an easy straight walk there.

definately recommend and would stay again!!

Room Tip: ask for room away from lifts.

Stayed here for three nights recently. Very pleased with the hotel which was very clean, the staff were helpful and the location was excellent. We used the small rooftop pool in the evenings and my teenage son was pleased to find that he had unlimited access to the computer. Free water was very welcome. Breakfast is taken in the Japanese restaurant which adjoins the hotel and there was a good choice. The room was spacious but a little dark due to it facing a very small internal courtyard. Not a problem as we were out much of the time but can imagine it could be depressing if the weather was bad.
