“Usually excellent, this time a problem”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 1, 2013

Two days spent at the hotel in November 2012. My regular as it is in a quiet part of tow, easy communication and you can find on street parking.
Room comfortable, wifi much improved (at last).
I tried to get breakfast, sat at table waiting for it to be cleaned and set, after five minuted the waitress presented a bill. When asked to lay the table, she told me to find my own cutlery!!
Plenty of excellent cafes at the end of the Calle Angli.
It is a shame as the staff are usually very polite and accomodating.

Room Tip: I always go for top floor as you can get noise from higher floors.

The hotel is located outside the city centre, but only 5 minutes from a tube station and therefore you can be down-town within 10-15 minutes.
The hotel rooms are nice and clean even so the housekeepers need some more consistency in displaying the various things on the desk and in the bathroom.
The breakfast buffet is basic. There is a vending machine brewing various sorts of coffee, but if you wish a Latte or a Cappuccino you can ask the waitress and she does a real one with fresh roast and ground coffee...
Don't even think about having other meals in this hotel because their F&B offer is clearly less than basic.
I didn’t have the opportunity to use the swimming pool, because it was not open yet.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with king size bed.

Eurostars Angli is in an area called
Sarrià, which is a lovely and safe area. It is quite far out from central Barcelona but there is a metro stop literally 5 mins from the hotel "Sarrià" which if you take the L6 (Plaça Catalunya) metro line you can get to central Barcelona in just 10 minutes! And they are very frequent. If you are wanting to get back to Sarrià you'll need to catch the L6 the opposite way (Reina Elisenda) The hotel itself is quite small but is modern and very nice. Very clean and reception staff are very helpful and a few can speak fluent English. You can also buy tickets for Camp Nou, we did and avoided horrible queues there. Wifi is weak, could be improved. But if you need it as a necessity then you can sit in the lobby as it is very strong there. Overall had a great experience. Would go back.

I spent two nights at the Eurostars Angli while on a business trip to Barcelona. I'd stayed at this hotel several times before so thought it would be fine. The hotel has an attractive modern look and feel to it, and all the rooms are sleek and modern. The hotel is also located in a nice "well to do" area and it is just a short walk from the Sarria train station. There are also a few good places to it near by (near the church towards the station).

On this occasion I had a room on the third floor, and for the first time that I've stayed in Barcelona it rained the entire time I was there, day and night. I had two significant problems with my stay this time, first on the third floor you cannot get wifi reception (which is provided free of charge at the hotel, which is one of the attractions of staying at this hotel). I had 3 devices, laptop, ipad and iphone, none of them worked on the third floor. They were fine on the second, first and hotel lobby, but not on the third floor. This is a problem that the hotel must know about and should really sort out. My second problem was the rain, why the rain you ask, and what has this got to do with the hotel? Well the exterior wall of each room, on every floor is one huge window from floor to ceiling. When it rains the rain does not make a pleasant sound as it falls against the window, but the rumbling of a drum kit. At night, when you are trying to sleep it is like you have inserted your head into a drum kit. I had colleagues who were on the 1st and 2nd floors and they had the same problem. Even with ear plugs it was impossible to sleep. This would appear to be a design fault with the building. As I have said, I have stayed before and found the hotel to be quite good value for money for a 4* hotel. However, my advice is don't stay on the 3rd floor if you want to use wifi and don't stay when rain is forecast for any night that you may want to sleep in the hotel!

Oh, one other word of advice, when in the lift/elevator, "B" is the ground floor.

Room Tip: Hotel provides free wifi which is fast and easy to access. But don't stay on the 3rd floor if y...

We visited Barcelona for a short family holiday this January. We thought being outside the city center was not going to be an issue and some of the reviews were quite positive, so we booked three nights in this hotel. When we made it to the hotel rooms, lat the first night, the heating system was simply not working, and it was a really cold night for Barcelona.

Moreover, the main problem here was not that the heating system was not working. It was that they tried to convince us that there was nothing wrong with it. After a while they admitted that the heating system stopped working three days before we arrived in some floors. They offered additional covers, a negligible discount and guaranteed the problem would be solved early in the morning.

The problem was never solved, and they tricked us with the discount, as it was never applied. Too many lies. The desk staff was untrained and inexperienced. In other domains, the room was below a 4* standards (not very clean, old furniture, no Wifi, no warm breakfast). You may get much more than this in the city center for a similar rate, and save a small fortune in taxis.

We stayed three nights from 1 to 4 de January, for the new year night was highly overpriced and we were in another hotel. The hotel itself is not in the city centre, but you can take metro line L6 or several S train lines or bus 22 from/to Catalunya square, or bus V7 from the Sants railway station (very convenient to go to/from the airport opting for R2 train). The area is very quite and relaxed. I highly recommend the buffet dinner for just 12 euros at 20:30 every day.
