Pros - very clean hotel, location close to the Aerobus stop so easy to get to and from the airport. Close to metro so it was easy to get to the main sites. Hotel is in a residential area away from tourists. BBC World News plays on the TV so a familiar channel for any Brits staying at the hotel. Breakfast was good and varied - fresh bread, cheeses, fruits and pastries. The woman at the desk who worked from the afternoon to evening was kind and helpful. The young man working in the breakfast area was also very attentive.

Cons - the air con was very bad so I would advise not to stay in the summer. We stayed when it was 28 degrees and we found it difficult to sleep and woke up sweating in the night. The air con only has three settings (1, 2, 3) and we could barely feel it on us. We spoke to the man who works at the desk from the morning to afternoon, he asked us (rather condescendingly) if we had been sleeping with the covers off, like it was our own fault we were hot at night. The view was not good - our window faced an interior courtyard where you could see other windows therefore you had to keep your curtain shut at all times to prevent other people from looking in. Rooms were quite small and simply furnished. We chose this hotel because the triple room offered an extra single bed rather than a sofa bed. However, the 'single' bed was more of a pull out bed with wheels on it. It was comfortable but not what we had paid for.
I believe the cleaning staff changed the sheets every other day as my sister transferred some makeup onto her pillow on the first night and the stain was still there the next day after the cleaners had been in the room. Basic amenities in the room were not topped up, such as soaps and tissue boxes. They also charge you 2 euros per locker to store your suitcases in after checkout.

Overall, the price of this hotel is too much for what they offer. I wanted to leave a comprehensive review as I was in two minds about this hotel based off the previous reviews I had read about this hotel. Do not stay here in the summer. Do not expect great service or a big room.

We arrived very early. After 24 hours in the hands of Singapore Airlines.
The charming receptionist was wonderful and stored our luggage and hurried up room preparation. He's a gem.

Room unfortunately had been used by a convention of smokers. Disgusting smell.

Bathroom excellent. Bed comfortable. Breakfast is varied, fresh and delicious.

While visited it was under renovation, a smell of paint was spread all over.
Rooms are slightly small but extremely clean.
Location is good for those who like to walk they can reach plaza espanya, Las Ramblas and many other attractions on feet.
Staff are very helpful and in the lobby you can get discounts cards.
Breakfast is good.
