very friendly staff and excellent location. we arrived early morning and were expecting to be told our room wasn't ready. surprisingly a room was ready for us and we had even been upgraded. the room was very nice and clean. the room setup was interesting. in the middle of the room theres a "sliding wall" that will either cover the shower, which has a frosted glass wall, or separate the sink from the rest of the room. there's also a shared sliding door for the shower and the toilet. the hotel is in an excellent location. there's many shops and restaurants nearby. it's right next to las ramblas and less than a 10 minute walk to la boqueria. it is also within walking distance to casa batllo and casa mila (10-15 mins). another great part of the location is it seems to be where many of the tour buses start/end their tours including the ones we booked, city sightseeing and catalunya bus turistic.

Great location - the catalunya plaza. Close to everything: the rambla, the gothic quarter, shopping centers.
Free wifi Internet in the rooms.
Great breakfast!
Not expensive!!
In short, absolutely THE place to be in Barca.

The best location. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed every minute. The hotel is neat and clean, beautifully decorated yet not too fancy which creates a warm atmosphere. Rooms are nice, clean and quiet, friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast. Everything you can wish for when travelling the city

Room Tip: There are some beautiful rooms with a view to Plaza Catalunya

We arrived shattered and 5 hours early to check in and the staff couldnt have been more accomodating.
They checked us in within 15 minutes and put us in a beautiful room overlooking the old quarter up on the 8th floor, which was much nicer than what we had originally booked.
We also got sent a complimentary bottle of cava in the evening as a welcome to barcelona.
The room was modern, quirky and massive for 2 people and excellently located.
I would definitely recommend this place.

We stayed here 4 nights for our first trip to Barcelona. This location can not be topped in regards to sight seeing. Used a Rick Steeves guide and everything was starting at Plaza Cataluyna.

We stayed on the 7th floor and facing the plaza. Loved seeing out over the city and all the decorations for Christmas. Unfortunately we had the shorter windows so you couldn't sit by the window and peer out over the city. Would recommend 8th floor as they had the floor to ceiling windows. The room is very modern and a good size for European standards but there was not one drawer in the room. Drawers for some clothes is helpful and was missed. Bathroom had a great rain shower head. Bed was a little too firm but with all the walking every day, we still slept fine. We did have some problems with the air conditioning/heat in our room. It seemed that many others were having the same problem and that the hotel had "over ridden" the guests thermostats so that we couldn't control the temperature in our rooms. We had to call down to the desk a couple times to have them adjust our thermostat.

Staff was very helpful and it seemed that everyone spoke English and was patient with my Spanish even though they seem to speak Catalan primarily. Breakfast was great every morning and seemed to be a very traditional type of breakfast for the locals.

Room Tip: View of the plaza is a must. If you can get the 8th floor, that would be top pick or 6th floor.

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and were very very satisfied.
The location is perfect, the service is excellent and the hotel itself is beautiful.
We were 3 (my mother, my sister & I) and upgraded to a suite with a huge window with a view of the square.
The hotel staff were very helpful - they let us have the room early and allowed us to stay for a couple of extra hours on our last day.
We hope to visit Barcelona and this hotel again!!!

Room Tip: A room with a view of the square is highly recommended. The regular rooms have a semi-transparent d...
