Lovely hotel in a perfect location. Aero bus, metro, tour bus just across from hotel, la Rambla next street! Lovely staff especially door staff! Room was nice and clean with air con. Have read reviews saying rooms were noisy but did not find this. Did not eat in hotel as had breakfast in cafe next door as the pastries were lovely, def worth trying! Got aero bus from airport which was perfect for this hotel and around €9 return! Lovely courtyard to sit in evening and have drink. Really enjoyed stay and would use again.

A clean, modern hotel located on the Plaza Catalunya. The room was spacious, clean with and excellent bed! The hotel facilities were great and the staff friendly and helpful. My only criticism is there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room and no drinking water.
The location is ideal for the Ramblas and Passeig de Gracia. Recommended!

Very nice boutique hotel with a modern decoration and a great location close to many attractions. Very nice staff. Breakfast was good but a little expensive. We had a suite which was very comfortable and a beautiful view to Plaza Cataluña, which made the room quite noisy. The bathroom was beautiful with many nice amenities. Great A/C

Room Tip: Try to get a suite since they are very spacious

Nice hotel in the center of Barcelona right on Catalunya Square and meters away from Las Ramblas. Very crowded square with a icecream shop in the left and a huge Hard Rock Café on the right.
The room was great but we got a double twin room (we are a couple) with a column in the middle of the beds, not having the chance to see each other if not our legs! But the room was good with an excelent bathroom and the air-conditioning working after some hours due the 35 degrees we had outside.

Nice but simple breakfast, they can do it better although.

My husband and I just returned from a five night, six day trip to Barcelona. We were greeted at the Hotel Olivia by a very kind, friendly and professional staff, who graciously helped us with booking tours around the area for the duration of our stay. The location was FANTASTIC!!! The breakfast was lovely. The beds were reasonably comfortable, with a reasonably nice grade of sheets.

I am afraid, however, this is where the kind words end. The rooms themselves were adequate, reasonably clean, but not completely clean. I looked under the bed for something that had dropped and found a load of dust. The floor by the window was also less than spotless.

We first stayed in a first floor room overlooking the park. The good news is we had a beautiful view of the park with the water fountain in the distance. The bad news: very, very noisy as we were so close to the street. On the first full day of our stay we requested a room change. No worries. The staff was wonderful and granted our request immediately. They even moved our belongings to the new room while we were out touring - without issue. We were now on the sixth floor, overlooking a delightful view of the city, with the sea in the distance. The bad news: STILL very noisy. The walls are paper thin and we could hear everything, and I mean EVERYTHING going on in nearby rooms - a baby crying throughout the night, window screens going up and down, doors closing and, the sounds of lovers...well.... I think you get the point.

If you do choose to stay here, I highly recommend ear plugs. I would also recommend requesting a king size bed. The single beds slide with the slightest movement. The good news and the bad news depending on your perspective.

Room Tip: Highest floor available, king size bed

while booking we were confused between the majestic hotel or olivia plaza, finally we booked olivia plaza after a friend convinced us , yes the location no doubt is good but the room size is very small the rooms at majestic are bigger as we went there to have a look , everything was fine during our stay but i will surely be staying at the majestic hotel next time as the rooms are bigger

Hotel Olivia Plaza was in a great location, right in front of the Plaza Catalunya, and our seventh floor room had a gorgeous view. The metro station was across the plaza, and we were mere meters from La Rambla, yet did not experience any of the insane bustle that comes with it. Very pleased with the location.

The room was very modern, with a great shower that had a dual spray option. Very clean, also, and well-stocked with toiletries. If you like to use a washcloth or a sponge, though, bring your own (but I think that's the case with most hotels in Europe).

The restaurant in the hotel is very interesting, with glass floors and huge skylights, however, our food (we ate lunch there one afternoon) was simply okay, and probably the most expensive meal we had in very affordable Barcelona (and we went on to eat at some great spots). Service in the restaurant was just okay, too. Nothing spectacular, but not horrible either. Just okay.
