“2 Days Pre Cruise”
Reviewed October 26, 2011

Stayed at this hotel in early October 2011 as a precruise package. Hotel is modern and clean. Furnishings are minimal. Two twin beds were pushed together and not very comfortable, Hard mattress was on a board and not a box spring. Upon arrival there was only one hand and one bath towel. Informed bellman when luggage was delivered and he promptly provided more towels.
Hotel is kind of out of the way. Very few eating options in the area. Nice mall was accross the street, Offered few dining choices, mostly fast food, and most stores were closed on Sunday when we arrived. Hop on Hop Off Bus stop accross the street was very convienient for sightseeing. If visiting Barcelona again I would stay at a different hotel in a different location. Barcelona is a very nice city and place to visit.

Modern, stylish, clean hotel. Really nice decor throughout. Rooms lovely, comfortable, clean and fashionable. Lots of light and great black out blinds. Good size bathrooms but glad this trip was with my husband and not a friend as the bathroom (excluding toilet) was all glass! View was a waste land but was nice and quiet.

Corridors reminded me of the playboy as oddly dark with neon lights!

Excellent standard for the price we paid.

Large shopping centre very close and tourist attractions accessible by metro or bus but no where near as close as I would have liked.

Nice hotel with a fashionable look and nice big rooms including integrated glass wall bathroom. I am not sure it will age well, but right now it has a moderm minimalistic decor that is nice and confortable.

Using the lifts was a bit triky as you have to select the floor before entering.

Location is not very central but it is close to the beach and las Glorias shoping center as well as in the middle of the new business district of the city so quite convenient for business travels.

This is a contemporary award winning Arcitectural masterpiece. Based on the Bahhaus tradition, the hotel also reflects a theme of an underwater experience. A subtle blue glow is found throughout the hotel. Even the bar stools are designed like the open mouth of a shark.

The site is a leisurly walk to the Sagrata Familia. A classic work of secular architecture designed by Gaudi which is still under construction. The hotel is also walking distance to the local shopping mall, but don;t look for the aprking lot full of cars. Barcelonians do not use them much. Everything is pedestrian or bicycle oriented here. If you want to get to any of the urban sites like the Ramblas or the Promenade, just hop on the subway at the intersection of the roundabout outside.

Room Tip: Ask for a view towards the Sagrata Familia or the Water Tower next door.

I was a little concerned about location before I stayed here but the location was fantastic- a 10 minute walk to the beach, the metro station is a 3 minute walk from the hotel so the whole of Barcelona is easily accessible.
I'd seen reviews mentioning the glass wall in the bathroom so wouldnt recommend staying here without someone you're really comfortable with- not somewhere to stay with friends!
Staff were really lovely and we got a room straight away even though we were a few hours early for check in because of our flight times.
One bit of advice is that room cleaning starts early so make sure you use your do not disturb sign if you don't want to be bothered but overall the room and hotel was lovely and we had a great stay.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights, big room, comfy bed and very cute toiletries, there is a shopping center right across the street to buy anything & everything, there is a Carrefour (which might be equivalent to Walmart of North America for those who don't know about Carrefour) I loved their breads for 0.45 Euro it was always hot & fresh, almost like french breads.

There is a metro station (Glories) 3 min from the hotel (convenient to travel in the city for just 1.50 Euro), or just 15 min walk to the "Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família" (one of the main tourist attractions in Barcelona)

Also 15 min walk to a Renfe station (Clot) which I took the train to visit the Dali museum in Girona city (2 hours from Barcelona cost approximately 10 Euro each way) + the ticket to the museum 12 Euro (9 Euro if you are a student)

Overall I enjoyed staying in this hotel, if in Barcelona again, I won't stay in this hotel that's only because I like to try different places, but definitely recommend it to anyone who want's to visit Barcelona.

You'll never get lost staying at this hotel as it is located directly next to the Akbar Tower, a new trademark and iconic image of Barcelona. The view as you walk or drive up to the hotel at night is just eye-popping, and it always helps you find your way home. We got an amazing deal on the hotel as well, likely because it is really not centrally located next to the tourist sites. That said, the metro is right next door and very easy to use. And, that's why the hotel, though sparkling and new, isn't that expensive. Extra points for the cool rooftop sunning area with the plunge pool and bar. Very fun.
