“Perfect choice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 21, 2014

I stayed at the hotel for 7 nights in April and I was absolutely satisfied with the choice I had made.
Great location, the metro station Line 1 is accross the street, the bus station Barcelona Nord is three metro stops away, lots of city bus stops around with the perfect routes to see the main attractions of the city. If you take bus 24 you will reach Park Guel, or bus 59 will take you to the sea port along Rambla street. It is very sutable when you are tired you can take a bus to get to your hotel practically from any corner of the city, because the hotel is 5 minutes walk from Plaza de Catalunia, shuttles Barcelona airport arrive there too.

My room was in the 5th floor facing the inner side, very quiet, clean, the bathroom was spacious and clean. The staff is very professional, friendly and helpful. I felt very comfortable. It was a perfect choice regarding the location and value. A very well kept place. Thank you!

I stayed in forn 6 nights at the hotel. We got a lovely & comfortable roome. The bathroom was big and clean, as well as the room.
The staff was polite and helped us, searching answers every time we needed.

The hotel is in a great location and fantastic for sightseeing. The hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was basic but clean. A mini fridge would have been helpful as there wasn't one. Breakfast was basic -rolls and jam and a fruit salad which didn't change. A nice place for a city break.

I stayed at the Hotel Marvi for 3 nights in between Christmas and new year. It is a great little hotel in a fantastic location, literally a 20 second walk from the Metro station.
Yes, it is basic but that is reflected in the price that is paid and for its location, in my mind its amazing!
The staff were all very friendly and willing to help with any queries. The breakfast was basic, some bread and packs of french toast, cakes but to have this included in the price is fantastic. All we wanted was something to kick start the day and the bread, coffee, juice definitely did this. You would pay far more for a more substantial breakfast and if you want this perhaps look at staying elsewhere.
We stayed in a room at the front of the hotel and whilst it was a little noisy in the evening, we were so tired after a busy day of sightseeing, we slept perfectly, even my partner who is a very light sleeper.
Great hotel, would stay here again 100%. Thanks Hotel Marvi!

This hotel is extremely shabby and smelly. It is in a great location but I would not recommend staying here if you are planning on spending time in the hotel. For breakfast its also one piece of brown bread and one butter. Nothing else. You can have coffee if you want but dont expect much from this place. It is easy to get to the Place de Catalunya, about a two minute walk, and also to the metro station.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not on the street side. I couldnt sleep at all with all the noise.

Stayed here in October 2006 and loved this little hotel. Couldn't book the Marvi when we returned to Barcelona in Jan 2010, so 'sadly' had to try another hotel. However, having just returned from spending 2 nights at the Marvi at the end of November, I wish I hadn't been able to book the Marvi this time!
The room (at the front of the hotel) was shabby. There was no heating apart from a small freestanding oil heater (the temperature outside overnight was 4 - 5 degrees!) so the room was cold. The bed was very uncomfortable, with no additional blankets or pillows available. The bathroom also smelt quite badly (I think there was a drainage problem).

On our previous visit the hotel felt quite 'boutiquey', with a small but clean, functional room. I definitely did not leave with the same impression this time.

The only plus side was that the hotel hadn't moved !! It's in a great location only a few hundred yards from the top of Las Ramblas and close to Place de Catalunya. Excellent for sight seeing.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a quiet room at the rear of the hotel, otherwise you won't get any sleep.

We arrived in Barcelona early in the morning without a hotel reservation so took a taxi from the cruise ship terminal to Catalunya Square. The tourist kiosk wasn't open so I suggested to my husband that we find a McDonald's or Starbucks right away. He looked at me like I was completely nuts (he's always had a cushy company paid for mobile account until this trip) so is not wise to the ways of sourcing free or cheap wifi. After explaining how McDonalds and Starbucks are two of a traveler's best friends, we found a McDonald's within minutes across from the large department store, sat down for breakfast over free wifi and logged onto Trip Advisor for help finding a hotel. Trip Advisor didn't let us down in steering us to Hotel Marvi, so we quickly booked the last room while in McDonald's. Everything was as Trip Advisor said: clean, huge room, perfect location, walk everywhere. This place is a keeper, we were at Marvi for two nights and would stay again. Highly recommend. Walked across the street to have breakfast outside.

Thanks to all of you who reviewed!
