“Excellent hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 14, 2013

Just returned from a 2 day business trip staying at this hotel. The official rating may say 2 star, but this was truly a first class hotel, made so by the exceptionally helpful and friendly staff, big thank you to Sebastian who literally couldn't have been more helpful and professional. I stayed in a superior double, which could easily accommodate 2 adults and 2 children, fabulous shower and room immaculate. Location is great, 10 min walk to las Ramblas, 25 mins to the port. Exceptional value for money, will definitely be booking again ASAP. Many thanks

Stayed last Saturday 8th June for a night and would recommend this place, this place ticks several boxes, good central location be on the Ramblas in 10 minutes, decor is modern, rooms are pretty big with a suite 'feel' seating area in hall, big showers,
Overall represents a good deal value wise - forget the fact its 2 stars ! It feels like 4

Staff was very helpful, location close to Catalunya and Ramblas althjough not straight on, rooms clean and good size, great bath very modern, we had room at the back and was very quiet. Price was a bit over other hotelsnearby but worth it, the quality is very high. We came with our baby and had everything we needed. Breakfast was average to good, worth if you dont want to walk and find somerhing else in the center

This is an excellent and good value choice if you need to stay sufficiently close to the main sights and neighborhoods of Barcelona. 10 minutes walk from Passeig de Gracia (and its direct train connection to the airport -Big plus!), 15 minutes walk to Barrio Gotico, 15 minutes walk to Sagrada Familia and endless number of buses and metro lines stopping within 400 metres. This is the real crossroads of Barcelona.

The rooms are very spacious, modern, all of them with a nice balcony and with contemporary bathrooms and fittings. The reception staff is top notch and had a good command of English. The roof top terrace, which you can see in the thumbnail picture of this hotel is a pleasant spot for some evening drinks and the tapas place immediately next door is an excellent and convenient place for lunch or dinner.

The only downside was the unremarkable breakfast and breakfast room. Instead of paying the 10 euros (which honestly it maybe a fair price considering the usual steeped cost of breakfasts in hotels) go to one of the nice cafes and bakeries around.

Please note that there is another Hotel Constanza in the city. The other is known as NH Constanza and it seems that it is fairly usual for people to get confused between them. One person from our business party made the mistake and booked in the other hotel causing a bit of a logistical issue.

First impression of the hotel wasnt good. We had two single rooms which were TINY! However, absolutely everything else was just perfect so after my initial reaction, I was happy.
Hotel location was just great - we practically walked everywhere - to Gaudi's La Sagrada Familia, Caso Battlo, beautiful parks, the gorgeous Passeig de Gracia and of course the over-estimated but necessary-to-experience Las Ramblas. Continental breakfast wasnt included for us, but extremely reasonable for the all-you-can-eat buffet. Every single member of staff was a joy to converse with; helpful, friendly and really good english. I'd return - that's a good sign!

Room Tip: There were some noisy guests and our rooms were definitely not sound-proof so maybe request a quiet...

Great location a few blocks away from Las Ramblas but within walking distance. Walking distance to Gaudi houses, great tapas bar next door. Rooms spacious, clean, daily service was thorough, good toiletries.

Staff FANTASTIC! Friendly and always smiling. They followed up with my complaint after I left and tracked down a dodgy taxi driver who charged us ambiguous fees. We ended up getting a refund from the cab driver that is going above and beyond service call!

Only thing I can fault is the room we had - the beadhead was directly next to the plumbing pipes, which meant we could hear all the flushes from the hotel at all hours of the night. Also walls are paper thin so we could hear some extra curricular night time activies from the floor above us.

Overall a good stay if you don't let the little things get to you.

We stayed here for 4 nights in May 2013, me and my husband and 2 kids. We had a quad room which was effectively a good quality double sofa bed and 2 large single beds. The sofa bed was in a separate area in between the bathroom and main bedroom area which was perfect. The hotel was spotlessly clean and very well run. The guys on the front desk were incredibly friendly and helpful. The location is about a 10 minute easy walk through a nice neighbourhood to Placa Catalunya, the main square so a great location. The Tapas restaurant next door serves as a breakfast place but we only went there once, not because there was anything wrong with it just that we preferred to grab something on the go and get on with our day. We didn't have any issues with noise or hearing other people's bathrooms. We faced onto the main road and it wasn't noisy with the balcony door closed (4th floor, maybe we were high up enough to avoid the worst of the noise). Fantastic shower. Beds were a touch on the hard side and we would have preferred a king size to the 2 large singles, but minor criticisms of a great hotel. One tip i have is to bring the hotel details written down, taxi drivers aren't aware of it and often struggle to find it without the full address. There's a more well known Hotel Constanza by NH hotels which you'll be taken to if you just say Hotel Constanza!
