Here for business so needs perhaps different but arrived to find no evening
Meals or bar.. So not ideal although plenty of places
Nearby in fairness. Room is clean spacious and functional but not
Inspiring. Staff are what saves it as they are friendly and helpful

Dear guest,

we want to thank you for staying with us and share your opinion with the travelers community.

On the last months our hotel is making changes in our services to make guests' stay the most comfortable as possible. We just opened a restaurant with lunch and dinner service with first quality products for example.

We hope to see you soon with us to check our improvements and inspire you.

Kind regards,

Ildefonso Moyano

Our second stay at the Amister was equally enjoyable...Nice boutique hotel, run by professional and friendly personnel. Distant from "where the action is" but reachable by public transportation (bus stop 50 meters away; metro station about a 10/15 min. walk).
Access to the loby still needs a ramp and breakfast coffe still need to be hot, but the tastefully decorated areas and the comfortable rooms makes you overlook this flaws (except for the ramp).
Also "the price is right" and the neighborhood makes you feel like a local.
We'll stay again at the Amister...!

We stayed in Barcelona for 3 nights and this hotel was a base to explore the beautiful city! We don't mind a lot of walking which was a good thing as this hotel is not ideally based for the main attractions. If we go to Barcelona again we will probably stay in the areas of El Born or the old town where the action is happening. This hotel is located in a quiet area of the Eixample.
There was nothing outstanding about this hotel, it was quite stark and not very friendly. We were not told about breakfast upon arrival so didn't realize where it was served. The rooms are adequate, nice comfy bed and I like the Molten Brown toiletries, these are a nice touch. It is probably a better hotel for the business traveler, not for holiday makers. Also there is nothing very 'Arty' about this hotel, some may say style over substance, it was just OK.

A bit off one of the main roads, not far from the Surd railroad station, this is a very nice boutique-type hotel. Rooms were spacious, upscale, and quiet. A few blocks from the nearest Metro. Easy walk to Placa Universitat and Placa Catalunya. Lots of choices for meals nearby. Kept checking rates and saved about 15 Euros/night by checking often. Breakfast buffet was rather expensive but there are lots of less expensive options nearby.

We had a standard double room, which was largely what you'd expect from a 4-star hotel. Big bed, decent size of room, nice bathroom with Molton Brown cosmetics, and cable tv. Also fridge and safe. Bizarrely, there were no tea or coffee facilities in the room. I've stayed in youth hostels that have this, so it seems a major omission from a hotel at this price! We asked about it and were told they only provide this in their "superior" rooms, which were something like ?15 extra. If you book it in advance, breakfast is an additional ?11. Looked like pretty standard hotel fare, so we used the local bakeries instead - quite a few within a 5 minute walk. The hotel's outside the main tourist area but only a 5-10 minute walk from Rocafort metro station, and a 15 minute walk from Barcelona Sants station, so fairly convenient to get around from. No hotel bar, but a few places nearby.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. So a good hotel overall. But they really need to provide even a kettle and some packets of nescafe in all the rooms - that's so standard in even the cheapest hotels! On that basis, I'd give 3.5 stars if it were possible!

Thank Chris B

Professional, kind and helpful staff. Location was perfect for us, a decent neighbourhood a little withdrawn from the most touristy parts of town. Catalunya just two metro-stops or a 20 minute walk away. Easy access from the airport - Tran from BCN to Sants and <1km walk or a €7 taxi ride.

Contemporary minimalistic decor with art, very good cleaning standards, and fast free wifi. Great brunch buffet.

We would definately stay here again.

I can't fault the hotel one bit! It's not located very centrally but that's great as its in a really nice area (quieter) which is still very easy to get to any of the many attractions within the city. Special thanks go out to Christina on the main desk and Emilea for their fantastic help during our stay! They really went extra mile for us and made our stay even better! We loved our stay and will certainly be using Amister again WHEN not if we return! Top Marks!!!!!
