We went there twice for dinner, but was fully booked. So we decided to try our luck for the third time. If you want to go there for dinner, try to book in advance to prevent disappointment.

The place is really lovely and the food was good. I ordered coca with sautéed pumpkin and it was good. The pumpkin is really good.

Great fun and great food. The staff working there are informative and chatty. We had a magician in the restaurant the night we went, I understand themes change roughly weekly. Was a really funny way to wait for the first course.

Don't go here expecting a quiet candle lit meal for 2. Go here expecting colour, laughter and something interesting. Fo with an open mind, it's not what ypu expect. The wine is local and good value. The food was a lot lighter than you often get when eating out while on holiday, with a push towards local produce. This was really welcome. At the back is a furniture/design shop. Some really interesting pieces there.

If you get the chance then go. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Came here for la comida (mid-day meal) with my wife. Totally blown away. Great ambiance (a bright, fresh break from a lot of normally very heavy Spanish decor in most bars and cervecerías), awesome service, and best of all, GREAT FOOD!! My wife and I lean more towards salads and vegetable dishes than the normal jamón iberico and heavy fried patatas bravas that you find around here. We had a phenomenal vegetarian meal without even trying hard to be veg.

The setting is a bright modern art studio with really fun things to look at. Tables were glass with bright furniture, etc. Like I said, it was great to find bright, light decor.

Quick service, except that we had to grab our own menus. The waiter speaks good English, and there are menus in English, Castellano, and Catalán. Once we had his attention, he was very quick and attentive for the rest of the meal.

Very good beer selection (more than the simple Estrella and Moritz that most places offer), as well as several good wines for cheap prices. We had the house white, which was awesome.

The menu del día (daily menu) is a little inflexible, as you can only choose from a selection of first dishes, and then there is only one main dish on the menu, but it comes with drinks and then either dessert or coffee. We chose to eat a la carte, and it came out a little more expensive, but not much.

We had the burrata salad, the cheese table, and the calabasa sandwich (pumpkin open-faced sandwich). The burrata was really big, a little heavy on the dill, but delicious and very fresh. We asked for more greens than usually accompanies a burrata, which they did in spades!! Huge portion, no additional price.

The cheese table was the show stopper. Six different cheeses, two goat, two cow, two sheep. Unreal. They source all their cheeses from the organic market across the street, but it was great having someone filter through all the options and offer only the best. The crackers and bread toasts that came with it were great, as well. Artisanal breads that really accented the flavors of the cheese as well. There were also amazing walnuts (I didn't know that walnuts could be more flavorful or less-so. These were great) and generous amounts of quince.

The pumpkin sandwich was unreal. Delicious flatbread loaded up with roasted pumpkin, arugula, walnuts, and shaved pecorino. It was drizzled with balsamic and honey. One of the best dishes I've had in my six months in Barcelona. It was tough to pick, however, as there was also a chicken sandwich, as well as the signature house sandwich that were also very interesting. Remember that all sandwiches in Spain are usually open-faced, unless otherwise stated.

We had to run and missed out on the desserts, which looked amazing (especially the HUGE slices of vanilla cake and the fruit tarts).

But the main attraction was the attentive, kind service. These people want you to like it, and they try very, very hard. Our waiter was visibly sad when we said that we had to go, he offered to send something with us in take-away boxes! This place is great, and we will be coming back a LOT!!

We wanted a light dinner near our hotel on a Saturday night when rain was predicted. We used TripAdvisor and landed at Mar de Cava. We loved it! It is an original space with good food, interesting design (some for sale), and even silent films. Each table has a different mood and style. We chose a mixed plate of meats, cheeses, and fruits & nuts with a nice wine recommended by our server (whose English was excellent). If you want ordinary, don't go. If you want something unique, this is your place!

Definitely a must to visit. The boss, Jordi, is a friendly and customer-oriented guy. He values his recipe and takes time to explain his dishes and make good recommendations. The place is very cosy and you can seeplenty of nicely designed art pieces. The food is very reasonably priced and most importantly very delicious.
