The best value for money, especially on this backpacker's budget. We (4 of us girls) stayed in a private 4 bed room with shower/bathroom attached. We checked in on 19th Dec and fell in love with the hostel immediately. Amazing design and concept. Great spaces to hang out (tv/computer/game area). Most importantly, very secured. We left some valuables in the room a few times and the cleaners came in to clean out the trash cans but our things were untouched. We need access cards to enter most of the rooms and lift. Awesome reception and bar staff. They were always smiling and providing suggestions of what to do around the city. Barcelona has become one of my favorite cities thanks to Generator. Look out for 2 for the price of 1 drinks at the bar ( we only had Pepsi though :P ) and free shows/classes/activities advertised at the front desk!

One of my favorite hostels. I highly recommend visiting. They have branches in major cities throughout Europe and if you stay in all you get five nights for free in a private room! Lots of young people, a great bar, and a hip and cool setting.

PROS:
great location
helpful and welcoming staff
free wifi
great design
affordable price

CONS
small dorms
small toilets
no kitchen

I would definitely recommend this hostel but as a solo traveller you might not meet many people as it has more of a hotel vibe. There are no kitchen facilities so eating gets expensive as Barcelona's restaurants are not that cheap.

Room Tip: 6 and 8 bed dorms are quite small for that many people

My three friends and I have been staying here from 19-24 Dec 2013. The hostel is only 5-10mins walk from Diagonal Metro station (Take the exit to Pau Claris). Our room type is four bed with private bathroom which cost each of us €80 for 5 nights. The room is a bit smaller but good enough for the four of us. All staffs including their bartender are very friendly.

Buffet breakfast serves every morning from 8-10 am for only €3 pp or €4.50 until 11am. They have 24 hour free wifi. They have computer room and you can print any documents you want because they have printer too. Most importantly, they have super cool chill out places on the ground floor, 1/2 floor and a very big tv room on the first floor. It is really awesome and cosy.

On our third night, we had the chance to learned the Flamenco Dance at the hostel's bar. It was unforgettable moment since it was our first time learning the dance.

They also have free tour around Barrio Gothic at 10.15am every day. You can ask the reception for more info.

I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone who wish to visit Barcelona.

I stayed at this hostel between the 13th and 14th of December on a solo trip and have to say it truly blew me away. The hostel is located just a 5 minute walk from Diagonal metro station through safe streets even at night.

The room is very cool for 45 Euro per night with a very comfortable double bed, nice views and a very powerful shower, it was also very clean and stylish. Free high speed WIFI was available in the room.

Another feature which I really enjoyed was the bar which had a really cool atmosphere and were it was easy to meet other travellers. The bar seems to do a different theme every night and when I was there it was Indie Rock night.

Breakfast was very good albeit a bit on the expensive side at 6.50 Euro per person although it was unlimited buffet and stayed open until quite late.

Staff were all very nice and helpful and there was a real party atmosphere in the hostel which was nice.
