What an absolute nightmare!!! Firstly the signage for the hostel was pretty much non existent. A tiny A4 sign above a door in an awful back alley! We then had the pleasure of climbing up 5 flights of winding, uneven stairs in 40 degree heat. Once we finally arrived the hostel common room (which is absolutely nothing like the photos on the website or bookings.com) we were able to check in. We were shown to our room, that had other guests belongings on our bed, but don't worry, the owners just lifted and shifted them to the other side of the room. The hostel had about 2 showers for approx 40 people so that was interesting. Also our room has no fan, no reading lights, one power point (which was running a fairly average fan) so we had to charge out phones off the power point in the common room. There was dried blood smeared on the wall of one of the shower cubicles!

On a positive note the staff were very friendly and helpful. A breakfast of donuts was provided each morning and the location was really fantastic. The prices were also very reasonable.

Would we stay again?? HECK NO!

From the photographs it is quite misleading about how big the rooms are. The room that we were given was tiny, sharing with 4 other people. The bathroom was fine though. Quite hard to find the place and when we did we had to climb a million stairs with our bags - no lift. Cheap for barcelona though so if you're not going to be spending much time in the room it is fine. Free breakfast is also ok if you are really really skint, but I think I would have preferred to spend a couple of Euros on tortilla from the cornershop.. View from the room was lush (please see photo). Other guests who were staying the same night as us stayed outside of our room talking until the early hours, and wouldn't be quiet even though I told them we were trying to sleep. Staff were friendly though.

I booked this place a bit incidental, and since we couldn't cancelled it (it said special promotions with great prices etc) so we ended up stayed here for 2 nights.
The location was great, within reach to La Rambla. So it's perfect for those who look for attractions nearby. However, the hostel itself was on the 4th floor of old building & it doesn't have escalator.
Beware if one's traveling with big suitcase, as I saw old fellows desperately tried to reach the place.
They served breakfast, which is basic & quite good for such price. And there was terrace that is open for breakfast. It's better option than packed with others travellers in their small kitchen.

We spent 2 nights at the hostel and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was basic but well-equipped: strong WiFi throughout; clean, large showers; friendly and seemingly-interested staff. The location simply could not be beaten - it is right at the bottom of La Rambla, around 2 minutes walk from the waterfront.

There was however one thing that we were disappointed with - our booking said we would have a 'modern room' but it was far from that. We don´t mind basic rooms in the slightest, however we were a little disappointed to find our room to be as far from modern as can be imagined - no padlocks on the storage lockers, what looked like paint splashed all over the walls and ceiling. It did not ruin our stay by any means, we were just accepting something 'modern', as was promised in the booking!

Aside from this we had a great stay - I would recommend the hostel and would not hesitate to book a re-visit personally. It is worth noting however that there are four flights of narrow, uneven stairs, so it is not the most ideal hostel for guests with mobility difficulties.

Room Tip: Rooms are shared dormitories of various sizes - one would need to book all of the beds in a room, or...

My friends and I spent two nights at pillow one and enjoyed our stay. The staff are very nice and helpful, they really try and get to know guests and make them feel at home.

The rooms are small but clean. The showers are all clean and large unlike many hostels, there is room to get changed and ample hooks to hang things.

The location is fantastic, right on the main road, easy walk to the beach, restaurants and bars.

The only let down for this lovely hostel is the extremely uncomfortable beds. They have thin mattresses so you are basically sleeping on wooden planks. And the noise from outside into the room is very loud and constant all night.

But overall the service was fantastic and the hostel was in a great place to see all that Barcelona has to offer!

This is not one of the best hostels i have stayed in.... but for sure is the best hostel considering price/quality.
Is close to the metro station next to the Rambla street. You have a local marken near the hostel (3 min) and the price is unbeliveble . I have booked a six bedded room with 77 euros/ 2 nights including breakfast..... so imagine that.
the hostel is on the last floor in some old building, but the position is perfect.

For those on a budget this hostel is a perfectly decent place to stay. Rooms are basic and there's not really anywhere to unpack your things, but they do provide safes to store valuables (If you forget your padlock you can buy one from reception for 3euros) and my friends and I had no complaints about the cleanliness or upkeep of any part of the hostel, including the shared toilets and bathrooms. In fact these were actually more pleasant than I expected! There was also no problem with competition for bathroom use, even when the hostel was fully booked on Saturday night.

Reception staff have sufficient English and are all exceedingly friendly and helpful. Despite signs asking you to "respect our neighborgs" there were no complaints made when we returned at 4am and there was even a 24hour receptionist to wish us buenos dias. I was especially grateful for their help when having to book a taxi in the very early hours.
Breakfast is provided (if you get up in time!) and includes toast, cereal, pastries, juice, biscuits and hot drinks. There is also a guest fridge if you want to bring your own food, and well-maintained kitchen facilities.

The only complaint we had at all was that as a party of 5 girls we were unfortunately roomed with an older man who didn't speak English. However we were well-aware this could occur when we booked and it actually turned out not to be a problem at all.

Overall, this is not exactly 5-star luxury but probably the very best you will get of budget accommodation!

Room Tip: Try to book in groups of six as there are six beds per room and you could otherwise be roomed with s...
