Same as we did in Germany, (you can read my tripadvisor, review: Hof zwei im Moevenpick Hotel Berlin) we came to Barcelona (Spain) by curiosity, to understand, to feel and to smack their finest and most terrific homemade desserts!!
Directly, something surprising catches our eyes: Barcelona isn't that kind of city where you’re going to find a lot of Bakery or Pastries Shops, like you may easily find in France or Belgium (my city).
No, in Spain, even people are more outside eaters, enjoying life, they have more a culture of restaurants, fast-food… and about local pâtisserie… it’s almost difficult to find one.
Thanks to Tripadvisor, we’ve found a palette of 3 pastisseria: all of them we’re damn good, high-level, it’s light cuisine, very well presented, playing with extreme detail and finally, inside your mouth, there’s a lot of things happening.
As we had only one week, to find the Top, we came across “La Pastisseria Barcelona “, a modern design shop, with high-class glucose.
The Chef Josep Maria Rodriguez Guerola and his team, definitely knows what they are talking about. Their dessert, are not only artistically excellent, they are exceptional, once you taste it, you cannot remain indifferent and definitely after mashing their skillful cuisine, you will get a rememberable souvenir.
Personally, my definition of Chef means: ”An expert; able to surprise us, to chock us positively, capable to take us on an unbelievable and unforgettable ride of taste discovery”.
Definitely Chef Josep Maria Rodriguez Guerola and his team are exactly that kind of persons.
From now, to come in Barcelona without visit them, it’s impossible.
