“Aesthetically charming and pretty, bustling and busy, buy many rude waiters/staff”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2014

When you enter Placa Reial you are so enticed by how beautiful and bustling it looks but on approaching several waiters outside several different restaurants within the square, none were very helpful or keen to have us enter their restaurant. Maybe it's because we had a young toddler with. One waiter at Les Quinze looked positively disgusted that we might choose to eat there and virtually ignored us. We found a table ourselves and then told him we were ready to order and were ignored for 15minutes! We got up and left! It's a real shame these restaurant waiters ruined our experience of this pretty place. We were left feeling lika nuisance at many of these restaurants.

“A lovely square in the midst of the bustle of La Rambla”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2014

Just steps off the crowded La Rambla (the easiest entrance street is just opposite the Oriente Hotel at Number 45) this square with its fountain, palm trees and surrounding restaurants is a great place to take a break and kick back for a while. Yes, the prices in the immediately surrounding restaurants are touristy, But you can go a block or so beyond the square and have a very good meal at a fair price.

One quick tip: Just because it's less bustling than La Rambla doesn't mean that pickpockets don't like it at least as much as you do. One of our friends had his pocket picked and spent part of yesterday with the local police who, while sympathetic, were honest enough to tell him that the chances of recovering his wallet and catching the thief were something between none and no way. Lesson: Assume the pickpockets are there, and that they are good at what they do. The same is true on La Rambla, where the much greater crowds make the kind of contact that pickpockets need almost inevitable.

“Relaxing and Charming”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 23, 2014

Off the busy Las Ramblas and within the Barri Gotic area is this charming little square where you can sit and soak up the atmosphere. I particularly liked the metalwork of the lamps around the square
