Can't really describe it. We kinda had this small down college vibe as we walked around, if that makes any sense. The streets were smaller than in other areas of Barcelona and it felt more bohemian. After seeing Parc Guell, we had a very fun afternoon checking our Casa Vincens, visiting Boldu bakery (Look them up. Unreal goodness) and lunch/dinner at Placa Del Sol, which is a small square with a bunch of restaurants on it's exterior and quite a few locals just hanging out. The whole two hours or so we were in Sol, I don't think we saw another tourist. There's no major monuments to check out, but we enjoyed this area only send to walking the Gothic area.

You could really make a day of it. The Casa Fuster for a drink and some Thursday jazz, da Greco for dinner, shoe shops and lovely modernist architecture are everywhere. Head off the main street and discover the side streets. Calle Verdi is just one suggestion. You'll be well rewarded!

Move uphill from the end of the Paseo de Gracia into the suburban life. Plenty of small boutiques and restaurants, away of the main stream of tourists. Narrow streets (more shadows for summer wheather)

It is an important street in Barcelona, but it is full of clothes shops (the same that you can find in malls). Even though, you can still find some traditional/historic shops.
