This pavilion was originally built in 1929 in 8 months, then taken down, however it was determined that its architectural importance required it be rebuilt on the very same footprint in 1983, although this time it took 3 years to build. Having been to other World's Fairs, I was initially letdown with the buildings simplicity, however sitting and contemplating changed my mind.

Not your usual popular tourist spot hence no crowd and plenty of space to enjoy this beauty by the famous Mies Van Der Rohe! What a piece and a great experience for us to have witness his architecture.

I will start this review with this... DO NOT PAY THE FEE if you are not 100% interested in architecture or design history. I am a design student and I paid the 5euro fee to see this place and I thoroughly enjoyed it. But I could tell that there were people there that were not enjoying it so please be wise about entering. You can see the building from outside and that is probably what most people should see, as it is next to other museums, and inside has some Barcelona Chairs and a great little gift shop.

The architecture itself is with interesting design and high historical value. As a Bauhaus fan, it is definitely worth a visit, but I would say it might be not interesting for most of the people. There is no actual exhibition or curation but only the building itself with a small shop.

A must see for architecture students and enthusiasts. Very interesting pavilion reconstruction from the brink of modern architecture. Id seen so many pictures of it I wasn't sure if it was worth visiting but the light shade and materials are far more impressive in reality so highly recommend.
