This was a welcome oasis of calm on a busy weekend. It was cool (style and temperature wise), peaceful, and although small, I believe worth €5 for the experience. I don't think you have to be an architecture fan to appreciate this, but some might not see what the fuss is about, so be warned. You can get a good idea of the building from the outside, and there is plenty of space in front of it to get a good view, so those on a tight budget could just do that.

The admission fee was 5 euros per person which I thought was expensive for the experience offered. I wrote it off as a tribute to a genius but would not recommend it to anyone else. I do love his designs and did enjoy seeing this building.

If you are an architect or interested in architecture you do not need any advise on this. If you are just open minded , try this for an eye opener what art can do - for you mind. It is pure Zen.
Sure, some might say - 5 Euros for some more or less empty space? Well, hope to visit it when it would be more or less deserted. Speak with the master: LESS IS MORE.
If you meet your conversion, you can travel on to Brno, where his other masterpiece can be visited: Vila Tugendhat. You will not regret it.

Beautiful from the outside, but closed. I had checked the website which was very out of date and said nothing about a closure. There were many others who came by at the same time as me and who were also disappointed. I would have come a day earlier if the website had offered info about this special closing time.

Thiswas a place of pilgrimage for me. It is hard to believe that this superlative minimalist building could date from the late 1920's. Its clean lines and simple structure must have been a revelation in its time and even today it stands in stark contrast to many contemporary buildings with their cluttered designs. Don't even consider not paying to go in once here for having made the trip to Barcelona you should benefit from a viewing of this Mies masterwork. To me it was a highlight of my visit to the city.
