Silken Concordia Hotel

This hotel is good value, within 15 minutes walk of the Ramblas, the port, Placa Espanya. The hotel restaurant is small but provided decent fairly basic food at a reasonable price (eg,canalloni, salads, chicken or burgers with chips.) Rooms were very clean and well equipped , good range of toiletries, big comfy bed, bathrooms decent, although bath quite small.
The hotel is right next door to a great little bakery and breakfast- a coffee and croissant or other pastry just 1.6 eros. Lots of places to eat withing 5 mins walk-pavement cafes, restaurants offering tapas and paella/pizza/pasta dishes.Slightly cheaper than the Ramblas area.
Staff helpful, and we left our cases there til the end of the day after checking out.

Stayed at hotel for 3 nights. Great location, convenient to all sights and transport. Easy walk to port/Ramblas and the Placa Espanya
Breakfast excellent both hot and cold, rooms large and very comfortable. Great big bathroom! Staff very helpful and friendly.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking street noisy at night time if not used to traffic

Stayed in the hotel for four nights, everything was great , very welcoming and helpful staff, excellent location . I advice anyone coming to the hotel from the airport to reach plaza espanya and take bus 20 to the puble sec stop just infront of the hotel's door.

We loved the staff at Silken Concordia! Very friendly, accommodating and always remembered us!
We stayed for two nights at the beginning of our holiday, and another night at the end, and we were very pleased with both stays!
On our first stay we were in a comfort room, and we were allowed to check in at 11am when we got off the plane- a HUGE bonus! The room was NYC-small, but very comfy and had everything we could need. The WIFI was free, and worked very well.
On our return we were bumped up to a Silken room, free of charge, and were allowed to check in at 1pm- again, a huge bonus! The room was MUCH bigger and the same great amenities were available.
Highlights: free wifi, comfy beds and great staff.
Lowlights: Earplugs are a must- the walls are super-thin and the noise travels.

I've stayed there at the beginning of September for 5 nights. I was a very good option: excellent breakfast, new furnished and elegant rooms (although not very spacious) with quite large bathrooms. My room was facing the boulevard in front of the hotel but the isolation was good enough so I could sleep without any problem (the window cannot be opened).
About the location: very close to the subway stations, about 10 minutes walk to the "singing fountains" and about 15 minutes walk to the Barcelonetta. So great location. Still, one night I returned home by foot (not by subway) and I felt a bit uncomfortable in the area around the hotel because of some North African immigrants drinking beer in from of a shop... They did not pay any attention to us so I guess there is no real danger. But I don't like risking so from that point on I just returned at the hotel only with the subway (in the night, in the day/evening there is absolutely no issue).

The hotel is clean and quiet but not in the best location for walking to any site, although some reviews say otherwise you end up taking the metro. The fellow at the desk gave us places to eat and they were great - the little italian eatery down the street and the tapas restaurant (two blocks away) that was wonderful (try the pineapple dessert). The cafe/bakery is good but noisy ...

Clean, good size rooms and nice location and comfortable beds. The wi-fi is free but pretty slow. The closest metro entrance (Poble-Sec) is just right across the street (stairs only, no elevator or escalator access for those with heavy luggages). There's a pretty popular cafe/bakery next door and banks within walking distance. Also, within walking distance is Tickets if you're able to make reservations. The staff is nice and welcoming. It's a good value.
