Spent 2 nights here. Modern but with a really warm and friendly atmosphere. Room was lovely - such a good size for a city hotel. Bathroom good and spacious. Rooftop terrace is great - must be incredible in the height of summer. Breakfast was good and plentiful Amazing position stops away from Las Ramblas. Will be back!

I stayed at Hotel Jazz while visiting my son who was studying at the University of Barcelona. Great location and an excellent hotel. Room was well appointed, street noise wasn't bad (I was on the 4th floor) and the stay was great. I would stay here again! Roof deck was spectacular, although it was a bit too cool to swim.

We stayed at Hotel Jazz in December, it is in a great location only a few minutes walk to top of La Ramblas and plenty of shops along the way. We were able to walk everywhere from the hotel but the metro is very close if you need it. Hotel is clean & comfortable, breakfast is good and there is a lovely rooftop pool area which I imagine would be great on a hot day. Bar area very quiet (empty when we checked), Ok for a nightcap if you want to be alone but plenty of other places to go within walking distance.

Hotel Jazz is easily reached by Aerobus from the airport. The bus starts just outside the terminal building and, if you get off at Universitat, the stop before Plaza Catalunya, it is a 2 minute walk (100 yards) to the hotel. At just over 10 euros per person return it isn't worth bothering with taxis. The bus has to be caught at Plaza Catalunya on the return journey which is a 6/7 minute walk.

We were able to check-in straight away despite arriving early. We found the staff we dealt with to be pleasant and helpful. The hotel was modern and immaculately clean throughout.

Our room on the 7th floor was facing a courtyard to the rear of the hotel and was really quiet. However, there were frequent rumblings which sounded like the metro trains running below the hotel, but they caused us no bother and were just like cars passing. Still don't know whether it was the trains and don't know whether they are louder on lower floors. Never heard them in communal areas of the hotel. The room itself was spacious and had all the facilities required. Beds were really comfortable and allowed a good night's sleep.

The breakfast on offer was a decent spread of cereal, cold meats, cheese, bread and cakes, fruit, yoghurt, etc. There was also a warm buffet of sausage, bacon, mixed peppers and mushrooms, but we found that this was never very warm and the reason I haven't given 5 stars. This could be easily resolved by having a microwave available. Ask for an omelette which is made to order and is hot.

The location of the hotel couldn't have been better. It is a busy area but not overpowering. In fact, it was reassuring to have people around day and night. Universitat metro station is within yards of the hotel and Plaza Catalunya station is only a few minutes walk so you have the option of different lines for direct access to the tourist attractions. The hotel is so central that many of the attractions are within walking distance anyway. Loads of restaurants tucked away in narrow lanes and plazas off Las Ramblas within a 15 minute walk.

Barcelona is a lovely city. Despite reading adverse reports about pickpockets we never felt threatened at any time. Sure, there were some characters around but we tried to keep our wits about us, be sensible and not venture off the beaten track late at night.

Any time that we return to Barcelona in future we won't even contemplate another hotel. We have no reason to look any further than Hotel Jazz, a lovely hotel with modern amenities in a great location.

We stayed here for 4 nights before taking a cruise. Can't beat the location, We did not eat in the restaurant, but found good restaurants with in a easy walk of the hotel. The bed was not that comfortable, pretty hard. Nice roof top deck.

We stayed there in Mai. We had a great time. Hotel was just perfect, but don't bother eating there except breakfast. We had diner once and were very disappointed. We had a couscous that was so "modern" that it had nothing to do with couscous but the name. It has perhaps changed since. The hotel room, bathroom, etc. were just right and for an excellent price. The Hotel is a bit off to the side of the city center but the underground is excellent in Barcelona and you can get anywhere with it. You can also walk which we did a lot of, it's a long walk.

Room Tip: The rooms are pretty large and bright. We stayed in may and the weather was perfect, not too hot, ve...

We were happy with our choice to stay here. We were upgraded to the largest hotel room we have stayed in! Fantastic location, very modern and clean. We found the staff a little abrupt when asking them for advice. We had a car to park and found it a nightmare trying to get to the carpark with the staff instructions - eventually one of the staff members stood out on the road to direct us in. We were also disappointed that the rooftop pool was closed when we arrived, although it was October we thought it was warm enough to use it. Overall a great stay & we would definitely return!
