“Good place to stay”
Reviewed February 5, 2013

I stayed here with my son for a weekend. This is a nice, clean hotel with a somewhat hip design. It is a good value, has a decent breakfast and a GREAT location: walking distance to several Gaudi buildings, a couple of subway lines & the major tourist areas (Gothic Quarter, Born, Las Ramblas, seafront, etc.).

We stayed at Hotel Jazz for two nights and could not fault it!! On arrival we were greeted very warmly by the reception staff. Our room, on the sixth floor, was tastefully decorated in neutral colours and overlooked the main thoroughfare. Everything was immaculate. There was a guest box in the bathroom containing shampoos, shower gel, dental kits, shaving kit etc........the items one may forget to pack. The shower was powerful and the water instantly hot. There was a mini bar in the room but no tea and coffee making facilities though of course it could be ordered through room service. For breakfast there was a range of freshly prepared fruit juices, cereals and an amazing selection of fresh fruit, cold meats, cheese and breads. There was also a hot selection of bacon, sausage and eggs. This is a city centre hotel and there is some road noise but it did not disturd us. It is ideal for exploring the maze of Medieval streets in the old town and for strolling down La Ramblas. There are metro stations within a minute of the hotel if one wants to explore other areas of the city.

Just had a weekend in Barcelona and stayed at the Hotel Jazz. The hotel is in a good location for public transport and just a short walk to La Rambla. Hotel was spotless and staff were very helpful and friendly. Although it wasnt swimming weather the roof terrace was still open and was very comfortable to sit before going out to explore. Would definately recommend to friends and would return back later in the year

Choose this hotel for a family holidays, 3 rooms for two days. Excellent choice!
Location cannot be better, close to the Universitat stop of the airbus, close to Plaza Catalunia, Gracia, Ramblas.
Comfortable room: nice size, good bed (pillow can be better), good size bathroom although the shower was a little quirk.
Very good continental breakfast with plenty of choices. Very attentive and polite staff. Rate was very good considering a) all the above and b) we are talking Barcelona.

Its hard to believe this is only 3*. This hotel is only a couple of minutes walk from the top of La Rambla. The staff are incredibly helpful and polite. We stayed on the 7th floor and there was virtually no noise at all during the night. Our room was spacious with a small balcony. The bathroom was a good size with a good selection of free toiletries. The weather was a bit nippy when we were there so a kettle would have been welcome but the room was warm enough with individually controlled air con. The selection at breakfast wasn't vast but adequate, and they were happy to make you other things eg scrambled eggs if desired. Theres a nice little bar just round the corner called Salzburg. Simple food but tasty and good service. We did a city bus tour to get our bearings and then after that zipped around on the metro and local trains. If you like zoo's the local zoo is worth a visit. Some of the animal enclosures looked small but it did seem as if they were working to improve this. The dolphin show provided good entertainment. A visit to Park Guell will give you amazing views of the city. Be prepared for an incredibly steep walk to get there though. My favourite trip had to be to the Freixenet Winery in Sant Sadurni. If you like cava you'll love this tour. Our guide, Christina spoke excellent English and gave an excellent informative tour of the caves where the wine is stored and the factory itself. There's free tasting afterwards and a shop with an excellent choice of wines. The local train gets you there in 40 minutes.

Room Tip: The quietest rooms are on the higher floors.

I booked the Hotel Jazz in Dec 2012 based on other travellers' reviews and this hotel did not disappoint. I booked this hotel for 2 nights as I wanted to do a quick visit of Barcelona before boarding my cruise ship to the western Mediterranean.

When I arrived at the Barcelona airport around 11pm, I found the Aerobus outside of Terminal 1 easily. After I paid my 5.75 euros to board the bus, it took me to the Universitat station where I got off and walked literally 2 minutes to the front door of the Hotel Jazz. It was late but the staff at the front desk was still super friendly and accommodating.

The next morning I took a walk around the hotel was very happy to find that it was close to Catalyuna Place, El Cortez shopping, and most importantly, La Ramblas. I also highly recommend that you book a gourmet tapas walking tour if you have the time through the Barcelona Tourism website. The location of the tour meeting point was only a minute from the Hotel Jazz. I sure packed a lot in given I had less than 48 hours to spend in Barcelona and it was all because the hotel was centrally located.

Room Tip: This hotel had rooms that can sleep 3 or 4 people comfortably, which is unusual for Europe.

Stayed here for 3 nights with my husband. Friendly and attentive staff; contemporary decor, location close to Plaza Catalunya and a couple of the Gaudi buildings. Good value and would stay here again. Breakfast buffet just right.
