I recently stayed at the Pulitzer in Barcelona for three nights over their Patron Saints Weekend (La Merce fiestas)

The location could not be better for a visit as a multi-purpose tourist to Barcelona (catching the sights, experiencing restaurants and other fun stuff to do in a great tourism city.).

The hotel is located about 100 yards west of Catalunya Station, at the north west end of La Rambla and the south east end of Passeig de Gracia.

The airport shuttle or metro from the railroad station drop you off at Catalunya and from there it is a two minute walk to the hotel.

If you preffer riding a cab, they are always available on Passei de Pelaig, 50 yards west of the Hotel.

The rooms were modern and small, much like those you would find in large US cities (ex. The Hudson in NYC). The beds were small twins pushed together to make a sort of smallish king.

The breakfast served was buffet style (all right for the price) and we did not try other meals in the hotel, as our trip was planned around the great eateries of Barcelona.

Amenities and attention were good. Lobby and restaurant were compact, not a hotel to stay in if you want to stay inside.

The rooftop lounge/bar had a DJ playing cool tunes thursday-saturday. Nice place to end the night.

Thank Hermann G

The Pulitzer is strategically located for shopping, including a mall-equivalent, and many other small businesses. It has a great 6th floor terrace should you partake in the cigar.

We left some things in the safe and they said they'd send them. Since they said that, they have not mailed the items and it has been 5 days. I would have liked that to be more responsive.

Also, some of their staff couldn't help necause the computer where they were staffing wasn't theirs. I thought that was a weak service point.

The 6th floor terrace was a strong service point.

We got a room that was intended for the disabled, and so the bathroom facilities were less than optimal.

We booked this hotel after months of searching for a hotel which was priced well, in a good location, had wifi and a roof top bar. The Pulitzer had it all. The service was amazing, the roof top bar was very handy for pred-dinner drinks and band play on the roof top as well which was nice to see. The hotel staff were amazing and moved my room with no trouble due to being on a smoking floor the first night. The hotel is cute, clean and again in a great location with shopping, tour buses and restaurants at your door step. Thanks Pulitzer for a great stay!

I have just returned from a girlie weekend in Barcelona staying at the Pulitzer which was literally a stones throw from Las Ramblas and a blink away from Plaza Catalunya. We arrived early at 10.30am to be told our rooms were ready. They were clean, excellent bathrooms with plenty of shower gels etc and a nice balcony. Service by reception staff and particularly at the Terrace bar was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was varied and plentiful in a smart, modern room.
If you want great service, location and comfort then look no further than the Pulitzer.

We just stayed at this hotel during late August 2012. The location is fabulous ... you can see the tourist buss parked just down the street. It was a quick walk to Las Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter and about ten minutes to Gran Via. The rooms are on the small side and a little tired. Overall the hotel was great and had good features and everything was working. The door man and front desk staff were generally helpful. The price for the room was very fair and we would consider staying here again for two reasons 1. the location and 2. the price.

This hotel is easily accessible from the airport by taxi at about $30.00 and we took another taxi to the Port which cost about $15.00.

We didn't eat at the hotel; however, there are several eateries close by. We preferred to walk the side streets and found some very reasonable places.

Room Tip: We had a room facing the street and it was very quiet.

This hotel is excellent. I've been to Barcelona three times now and this time for a week to inc their annual Merci festival. The hotel yet again sorted me and my friend two rooms on the front with a balcony to soak up the evening sun and much needed people watching views!

The rooms are of a good standard, clean and tidy with good housekeeping daily. The roof terrace is a must on a sunny afternoon or early evening for a drink.

If you like your morning cuppa then don't expect tea and coffee facalities in your room. However the staff are more than happy to provide you with hot water insulated jugs and for a minutes walk you can pop to the local shop and top up with tea and coffee to please yourself.

I will always stop here not because the hotel is excellent value for money (book ahead on their website for the best duscounts) but because it is in the best location in my option.

Cool little hotel in a decent part of town, with a great roof top lounge bar. When the weather is good (always??) then nothing better than sit up there after a long day and have some tapas and a nice couple of drinks.

The rooms were very smartly presented, and only spoiled by lack of sound insulation. Could hear neighbors tv clearly in my room. Ear plugs next visit!

Staff were fine, they did the job, nothing memorable. Breakfast was very tasty, and well organized.

Sure I will be back one day...
