“Get the suite with balcony”
Reviewed November 19, 2011

I often stay at Pulitzer in Barcelona. It is fairly priced, great located and all in all the best hotel deal you can make in city of Barcelona.

The suite is extra great, it has a huge balcony with outdoor shover and furniture.

Just returned from a weekend break in Barcelona and an excellent stay at Hotel Pulitzer. Situated just off Plaça de Catalunya and therefore La Rambla, the hotel is an excellent central base for a stay in Barcelona. We took the train from Barcelona airport, using a bargain T-10 ticket to get us there - costs less than 9 Euro and as the name suggests, allows you 10 journeys within a given zone. Two people can use one at the same time, so even if you just used it to get to and from the airport, it's the cheapest way of getting to the city centre. You can use it on the Metro as well.

We got off the train at Passeig de Gracia and walked to the hotel. Took approx 10 mins and allowed us to get stuck into Barcelona straight away! Received well at the hotel and although our room wasn't available immediately, this didn't matter. We left our luggage and went for lunch at Can Paixano. A crazy experience but worth finding!

Back at the hotel we checked into our room, second floor overlooking the street. A nice room, quite long but not particularly wide. Very spacious with high ceilings and a modern, contemporary design. Bed was very comfortable. Nice touch in the bathroom are the 'Man' and 'Woman' boxes. They contain things like a razor, aftershave balm, toothbrush and toothpaste. Great if you forgot something (although plenty of supermarkets nearby). Room also has things like a safe, minibar, flat screen TV and dimmable lights.

Never used any of the other facilities at the hotel so difficult to comment on them. The bar and dining area all looked nice and well-presented though.

On check-out we left our bags with reception (who were excellent on every occasion). They were happy to look after them for most of the day. Overall a very good stay and well worth the money paid (you should book well in advance for the best rate). Recommended.

The Pulitzer has an outstanding location, less than s block from Placa de Catalunya and Las Ramblas - and a Starbucks. Las Ramblas reminds one of a Paris Boulevard and Placa de Catalunya is a transportation hub, including the popular hop-on, hop-off tour busses. The hotel is ultra modern. So modern we had trouble figuring out the high-tech automated lights in the room. The room was very nice and comfortable, with a flat screen TV and internet service. The bathroom was ultra modern. The restaurant has a nice patio and excellent food although we felt the breakfast buffet, although nice and extensive, was overpriced so we ate at Starbucks, which also had free (and better) internet service. On opposite end of the block from Starbuck,s on Las Ramblas is FNAC, a French department store, which has sidewalk tables and a really good self-service cafe for breakfast and lunch. The hotel staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. But, be warned, when getting directions from them, a "ten minute" walk to them can take up to 30 minutes for the rest of us. Overall, the Pulitzer is an excellent hotel which we hope to stay at again.

We were very pleased with staying at Hotel Pulitzer. The room was clean, modern and relaxing. The hotel was perfectly located allowing us to walk to most everything. The staff spoke English and were extremely helpful. We would certainly stay there again on a return visit to Barcelona.

Beautifully designed hotel. Cozy rooms (one of the cheaper ones but perfectly nice), smart bar for a drink, helpful staff who recommended a restaurant for us. The roof terrace looked lovely although it was raining so closed up when we were there.

As other reviewers have said, this is a perfectly located hotel just across the square from the airport bus stop.

The rooms are very nicely styled in contemporary fashion with a very comfortable bed and good sized bathroom. The Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful upon arrival and the maid service excellent.

Unfortunately, the service in the lobby bar was poor on the three evenings that we used it and certainly not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. However, as nobody else has commented on this I assume that we were just unlucky and it shouldn't put you off staying at what is a very good hotel.
