If you time for just one more thing to see in Barcelona after La Sagrada Familia, make sure it is this other Gaudi's masterpiece in the Gothic Quarter. Indescribable, this palace continues to give my young daughters nightmares days after they visited; now if only other pieces of architecture can have that much impact on people!

Tucked down a side street it would be easy to miss. In fact we did and had to go back next day to find it! You are given a timed ticket when you book, as only so many people are allowed in at once, which is great as it didn't get too crowded and you were able to see everything properly. The rooms themselves are mainly furniture-less, allowing you to clearly see the work of Gaudi and to appreciate the skill he used in his design of the house.

Not as impressive outside as it is inside. Interesting home and furniture design and fun to imagine living there in the early 1900s.

A really good introduction to Gaudi as many of his techniques were used here. Also easier to grasp architectural concepts seeing them as a home designed from start to finish rather than a block of apartments or Cathedral etc. Handy central location too.

The Guell Palace has a very interesting architecture inside. You get a feeling of entering a fairytale place. I was mostly struck by its courtyard in the back part, the views are amazing. Audioguide is highly recommended to get the full potential of the visit.
