Beautiful hotel. easy to get to from the airport. very easy to get into the centre of things. ie. Las Ramblas.
Metro works likes Paris and is really cheap. Breakfast is brilliant - all you can eat and the food choice is excellent and all of a very high standard.
Rooms are beautiful and have a drink in the upstairs lounge at night, the Views are spectacular.
Service second to none. Overall highly recommended. Will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Don't book superior room. You ahve a good chance of being upgraded free.

I would absolutely go back to this hotel! We had an early flight to Barcelona from Madrid, so we did not expect that our room would be ready at 10am when we arrived. But it was, and it literally saved my day! The hotelstaff spoke very well english, and they where so helpfull when it came to tell us about attractions and must-see sightsing areas. We had a great first day in Barcelona because of them!

Next morning, after a good night sleep we went up on the top floor for breakfast. GREAT view. The staff up here was great, could absolutely smile a bit more, but the breakfast was very nice, so we didn't mind too much..

The hotel was situated just next door to the station Sants. It made it so easy to go back and forth to the airport, but also to get around in the city. We bought a Metro pass and it was great. A good way to get around.

The area around felt very safe and quiet. The staff informed us that we could use the top- floor pool at the hotel next door because they had an agreement. Also, our hotel had a SPA and gym department, but unfortunately we did not have time to chech this out. However, the pool next door looked very relaxing and nice. I will definitely go back to this hotel when I return to Barcelona!

The reception staff at the Gran Hotel Torre Catalunya must be among the friendliest and most helpful I have ever come accross in the hunders of hotels I have stayed in. Arriving late one evening after a delayed flight I felt immediately welcomed and happy to be in the hotel. The same was true when I asked for anything adn when I checked out. Lovely people!

The room was perfectly good. Reasonable size, comfortable bed, modern decor a lttle worn at the edges, but not enough to complain about, good bathroom, big TC, nice view from the window.

A highlight of the hotel is their Restaurant Visual on the 23rd floor which has a spectacular 360 degree view of Barcelona. Breakfast was an impressive buffet which was well worth the add on to the room price.

The location is great for public transport, several good restaurants nearby, walking distance to Plaza España and other important locations, but a little removed from teh main tourist center. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Go as high as you can for the view.

We stayed here twice, for 2 nights each time, before and after a cruise. Location is perfect, opposite the train station/metro and the tourist bus stops nearby too. Porters and security guards were very helpful on a few occaisions and it was no problem to leave our bags when we arrived at 10am after our cruise. The receptionist spent a few mins trying to find a room for us but couldnt as it was too early, which was fair enough. We left our bags and they were waiting in our room when we returned later. Receptionists were helpful with queries about places to go and gave us maps. Breakfast is a little pricey at €16 per day or 12 if booked for whole stay. Selection was extensive and all food very tasty. Room was lovely with sep bath and shower. We had a drink in the bar one night and sat outside in the nice small outdoor area. Placa Espanya was a 5 min walk away and was a nice area, near the fountains. Would def stay again if in barcelona.

We took a med cruise from Barcelona. The two nights prior to cruise we stayed at another hotel because of location being close to La Ramblas and it was ok. After the cruise, we stayed at Gran Hotel Torre Catalunya because it was close to the Renfe train. The train was down for repair so that part of the plan was not what expected but the Torre is a great value and with the metro, no need to be close to La Ramblas. You can get the the tourist spots in a few minutes.

If were doing all again, would save $50US per night and stay at the Torre before and after cruise. We had a very clean nice room. My wife was impressed with the bath, one of the largest we have ever had. All staff were friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: email ahead and ask for a great room

This may or may not be a great location for you. It's good if you're doing some train trips around the area (which I'd recommend). It's only a 5 minute train ride from the main plaza (non stop) and that's included if you get one of the metro cards or the Barcelona card.

Had to pay for internet which wasn't great though the price was not unreasonable. They indicated it might have been included if you book directly with them (rather than through a major travel site). However, the wired internet went out on at least 2 floors while we were there and was out for more than 3 days - while everyone was very apologetic and helpful with workarounds, they weren't very quick at resolving the problem.

There's a nice view restaurant up on the top through meals are rather pricey there. They did offer us a deal at check-in on their breakfast that made it more reasonable if you were going to eat there everyday.

The deluxe rooms were nice and spacious - understand that the standard rooms are a fair bit smaller. There is a very good shower. Beds were comfortable.

The business center has several computers and a printer though you may be charged for user there too. There was no pool but they indicated you might be able to use the one at their sister hotel next door.

The employees there all seemed eager to help and most spoke at least some English. All in all, it was a good place for us.

We were 3 nights in this hotel in August/2011, where we booked 2 rooms for our family . We had a very agreeable reception at the hotel. The staff is very nice, polite and gave us some tips where to go. The rooms are comfortable, clean, with good space for a couple and an extra bed. The breakfast were also very delicious , with several options to many different tastes and as this is on the 23rd floor you can have a spectacular vision of Barcelona. It is not so close to the beach or downtow and close to it there is not so much to see. The hotel is just some meters from subway station/train. You can also use the taxi service as this is not so expensive. A Fare from the hotel to the Barceloneta beach costs around 11Euros. Barcelona is a very nice city, modern, clean with several options to eat, see, enjoy. We regret that we had spent only 3 nights. When we comeback we will use this hotel again.
