“Great Location; Good Service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 14, 2014

Perfectly situated for exploring Barcelona - located in pedestrain area, waking distance to El Born sites and nearby Les ramblas, Barri Gotic, waterfront, etc. Small, good front desk & service was prompt, friendly and efficient. Free wi fi internet service. There are a couple of computers on the landing upstairs. Love the fridges filled with still & sparkling water for guests along with the bowl of apples everyday. We were there in late April for 4 nights and the temperature was around 25C. Room was good size, clean, comfortable and we had no complaints about the comfort of the bed. Good shower with toiletries. No window in the bathroom. Two large windows in the main room open for air. We didn't find it noisy from the street. We were on the 4th floor. Yes, you can hear the plumbing from time to time from other quest rooms but otherwise it was quiet. We had a squeaky bathroom door that could have been fixed with 3-in-1 oil. I meant to mention it to the front desk but didn't. Taxis can drop you off at the end of the street [a few doors from the hotel] and if in the morning can pick you up at hotel to take you to the airport. Just step outside the hotel and there a numerous choices for tapas, breakfast, dinner, drinks, coffee (Starbucks is not far away; lots of local cafe choices, Cafes El Magnifico is a couple doors down, overrated & pricey). The restaurant Senyor Parellada is ok (see review). We would certainly stay at Hotel Banys again. Great location. Enjoy!

Room Tip: our 4th room was quiet

This is the hotel if you want the best location, a splendid Spanish breakfast, nice staff and care about the interior. However, if you want a good nights sleep, choose another hotel. The beds are extremely uncomfortable. And, if they try to give you room 101- PROTEST! It's so small that you can't turn around. We also had 303 and it was better.

If we'll be back? Maybe, but never more than 2 nights in the beds.

Room Tip: See above! Avoid room 101!!!!

The location of this hotel is outstanding and the staff is friendly. It also offers nice little touches such as unlimited free still and sparkling water and green apples. However the bed is extremely uncomfortable - it's plasticy and low quality and creaks alot, which is made doubly worse by the thin walls that offer no sound proofing whatsoever. This is also the first boutique hotel I've stayed in that doesn't actually provide you with a real blanket or duvet and just has a flat sheet on its bed. I would recommend it for short stays given its great location but personally had 7 nights of terrible sleep.

There are not many hotels in a location like this that come in at under 100 euros per night. The hotel is situated in the heart of the el Born area and although the area has become very touristy in the last 10 years it is still a lovely area to wander around in and you are with in easy walking distance to the beach. My room was a single room which considering its location in the heart of the city was very quiet. The rooms have everything you need from rituals toiletries to a flat screen TV. There are computers on the landing for the guest to use so you don't need to bring a lap top and also one really nice touch is the fact that they offer free sparkling and still water. I would certainly come back if i have the chance.

Room Tip: I had room 107 which was a great little single

This is a really good three star that offers a brilliant location straddling El Born and Barri Gotic - both fascinating areas of Barcelona - and a friendly, efficient front of house (special mention to Camille- and clean, comfy attractive rooms. The rooms are really no smaller than most European hotels of this type . If you are large perhaps a superior room would be an option as it's true that there is not a lot of room to move around the bed, but the shower is huge ! The hotel kindly supplies a fridge full of still and sparkling water free to guests as well as a large container of apples as on each floor. I wouldn't really recommend the breakfast as it's 10 Euro, and was quite chaotic the morning we decided to give it a try. Cheaper and more fun to try some of the local places . I would return to this hotel.

Room Tip: If you are large then a superior May suit better than standard

We couldn't have asked for a better location. Easy walk to most everything. Tour bus stop very close by. There are many restaurants in the area. Noisy at night but we had no trouble sleeping after a long full day. The rooms were clean, very large showers. The rooms were small but we expected that in Europe. Hung close in the closet and set others out on
The desk. No problems. Would recommend.

Location perfect. I mean perfect - great for walking to the Gothic area, La Rambla, El Born, the beaches, all nearby. The Jaume metro is a minute's walk away so access to the whole city is really easy. There is free Wi-Fi. On every floor there is a fridge stocked with free bottles of still & fizzy water. There are baskets of apples too. Now do you understand that for what you are paying & where it is, this hotel is very good! We had followed 'Room Tips' & asked for a high-up, street-side room. Our room, especially the bathroom was spacious but there is noise. Not exactly from the street below which is pedestrianized but from the refuse lorries in the night. Earplugs required! As well as all the Barcelona 'must see's', one of the most fun things we did was to hire bicycles from the same street as the hotel & cycle right along the waterfront. This hotel was recommended to us (as was the excellent Senyor Parellada restaurant next door) & in turn I would recommend the Hotel Banys Orientals also.

Room Tip: We had room 311 which is high up & street-side with a very large bathroom. I would recommend thi...
