We went there with another couple to try it out after we read a review in TimeOut. Really affordable food (less then 8€ per person including drinks), busy place and extremely delicious. Only downside is the service which is a little "rude" , but somehow fits to the atmosphere of the restaurant

Amazing portion sizes. Great price, around five euro for a dish. Had the noodle pasta dish which is made in house. Service is quite short, but go in there with the expectation that they do what they need to and nothing more. Cheap eats!!

A few years ago Chen Ji became "the real" chinese food place to go. However it has become too mainstream, usually with looong lines to enter. The food is still the same, but there might now other places in the area with a larger menu.
Chen Ji however keeps being supercheap and quite big, perfect to go with friends for a lot of food ("quite" chinese, and not too much adapted to western taste) for a very cheap cost.

Decided to give this a try based on the positive reviews and yummy looking pictures of the food. Had the dumplings, ramen, scallops with veggies, sweet and sour ribs, and radish salad. The food was decent, but really nothing special. The ramen was flavorless, and the best dish was probably the radish. I am more than happy to deal with surly service in lackluster settings if the food is worth it, but this most definitely was not. Son Hao and Hanoi are much better options if you are looking for good Chinese in Barcelona.

We were deeply craving for a decent Chinese food while having our long holiday in Spain... This was real good food especially their homemade noodles. I would believe they were made from scratch looking at the texture and consistency of the noodles. Good service too and you don't even need to worry about your budget!
