“Nice little cafe”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2013

Food was brilliant, great quality ingredients served by friendly staff. As previous reviewers point out, it's nout fine dining more of a quick relaxing bite to eat in a friendly environment.

“Worth a visit - recommend”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 14, 2013

A very small friendly café type place, just next to Barceló Raval hotel in the wee side street, with home cooked food served on paper plates which was delicious, very popular, wine served in a plastic cup, mixed croquettes to start, then lasagne ( various fillings on offer) all served by a luvly lady who spoke broken English, which added to the atmosphere, worth a visit :)

“Fantastic lasagne . great bistro .”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 9, 2013 via mobile

Don't expect fine dining. these owners are eco friendly . paper plates . etc. there is only room for around 12 people, but the food is brilliant . the lasagne is made to order. i had lasagne with bacon and egg through it. my wife had it with pesto and beef. both were superb. the mixed starter of couches were to die for. Deep fried olives with beef tastes superb. you must try this wee bistro. So cheep as will. THANK YOU .

“Great little spot for Italian”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 31, 2013

My husband found this place via Tripadvisor .... it was a good find. We got there around 9 and we were not sure if it was even open or not but popped in and found it was. It is a tiny little place with not many tables, you order up at the counter and then you can grab a spot if they are not reserved, which last night they all seemed to be but for two. We ordered some wine, a beer and the classic lasagna .... it was great! You can see everything in the display case ... there was a mushroom one that looked really great too ... it seems the just heat it up for you which fine but ours wasn't warm all the way through which was a bit of a bummer but overall it was really good. I seemed to get super busy around 930 ish with locals ... we got asked to join tables with the table beside us that we were talking to ... no big deal but definitely not something you would not run into in the States. We also got asked to keep it down .... guess we were a bit to loud for the tiny place.
Overall good food (even though we only tried one thing) but I would go back and try another for sure! If you need a Italian fix this place is a good cheap and quick option!!

“Home made Italian by Italian sisters”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2013

This is a simple budget place. Nothing fancy but rather homely fare in the best sense of the word. Don't expect culinary acrobatics but rather well cooked home made Italian food at cut rate prices. I had passed this place several times before but thought that the prices were so low that the food couldn't possibly be good but saw that it was well rated on TA and decided to give it a try as it is close by. Upon the suggestion of the lady behind the counter I had a "menu" - a three course take away meal - which consisted of small slice of quiche (very good pastry, even when reheated in a micro), a chicken caserole type of dish with leeks which tasted fresh and felt like a healthy option and for dessert I chose a caramel panacotta which was neither too sweet or too bland but pretty good. There were a lot of other options (various lasagna, some sausage stew and other pasta alternatives) too. All this cost 8,50 eur which was incredible for the quantity and quality.

My high rating has a lot to do with the price - had I been charged the double - I would have thought it was fair but perhaps given it a weak four stars - but at 8,50 (!) it was a steal. I would gladly go back.

The flavors seem adapted to the Spanish palette, i.e. needing some extra salt and pepper and honestly the food didn't look very exciting behind the counter but definitely tasted better than it looked. All things considered, I can understand why some people were raving, though perhaps not exactly a gastronomic experience.

Compared to the other budget pasta restaurant in the gotico "Pasta Bar" - which I definitely found overrated, this was a welcome discovery. I hope more places like this will open in the area!
