“Good bang for the buck”

A well priced (mid-range) and perfectly located hotel. Each room has a balcony, large bathroom, flat screen and a very comfortable room. The hotel is walking distance to Park Guell (25 minutes) and Sagrada Familia (7 minutes) and a little further down the road you hit Gaudi’s famous houses and La Ramblas (45 minutes). Very friendly staff and free Wi-Fi. Can’t go wrong.

Before we arrived we were a little concerned as the hotel looks away from the centre and is only a 2 star. However this is possibly the best 2 star hotel I have ever stayed in! The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was perfectly adequate (omelette, cheeses, hams, salamis, cereals, fruit, breads, yoghurts, pastries), the room was small but enough space for us to be comfortable, very clean bathroom. As for location, the Sagrada Familia was only 10mins walk away (we were only strolling) and there is a Metro station only 5 mins walk away which is so easy to use to get around the city. All in all this was a great little hotel and fantastic value.
Only negative (and this wasn't a huge problem at all) was the thin walls - if you are a light sleeper then if might be a problem because you can hear everything from the rooms next door!

The hotel is located near to the Sagrada Familia, and within easy reach (10-15 mins by metro/ night bus) of La Rambla.

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful - definitely one of the hotel's assets.

The room itself was not particularly comfortable - it was small, and the bed was very hard. But the room and bathroom were both clean, and there was no noise at all (our room looked out onto an inner area between several buildings which basically just had fire escapes in it, so the view was non existant, but there was no problem with noise).

There are a few parking spaces available in a nearby indoor car park, although you have to pay extra for them - 17 euros a night.

The hotel was very clean, close to Metro station and nice breakfast. The reception staff was extremely helpful. though the rooms were small and there was no tea and cofee making facilities in the room. Left lugauge facility was available. the reception staff had provided us all the maps and tips for sightseeing in the city.

If I had to do it over again I'd stay closer to Las Ramblas and spend a little more money. You get what you pay for 262 E for 4 nights is a good price, NO DOUBT. The room was very small but had a balcony with a decent view. But as other travelers said the building is extremely noisy and the walls and doors are paper thin. The jackhammering outside (there is road construction in the intersection that the hotel overlooks) was bone-jarring. It was reasonably clean but smelled like sewer or must when I first got there and I'm not sure why but they gave me air freshener which I used. FYI- The in room safe - they charge you 3 E per day and it is too small to fit a laptop.

The desk staff really is excellent, they are bilingual and friendly and helpful. They are quick to respond to guest needs.

Breakfast is indeed way overpriced and the attendant is quite bored with her job and lazy! There are other places close by that you can go to that are cheaper and better.

Location is too far from the main attractions with the exception of the Sagrada Familia. Metro isn't far and Avenida Gaudi has some good places to eat. But again, you'd be better off staying closer to the city center.

If you want to save money you could stay here but just know it is only one step up from a hostel.

Very noisy building: you'll hear every door in the building slam, and every toilet flush. Not even the staff take any care to avoid loud talking outside your room when they start in the morning. Room and bathroom itself nice and comfortable. Nice blackout curtains and soundproof windows, but necessary because of street noise. Breakfast overpriced with slow and careless service. Good location.
