“barcelona stop over”
Reviewed July 12, 2010

we flew into barcelona airport and went straight to our hotel by taxi, which cost 30 euros. We arrivied at the hotel about 10 oclock in the evening, to be met by a man on reception who was not particularly friendly. We were given a card for our room (102), but we were not told how to use the card. I had to stand outside the room while my partner had to go back to reception to find out how to make the card work. When we got in to the room, it was clean, just like in any pictures you may have seen. The bathroom had plenty of complimentary toiletries and lovely soft towels. Breakfast in the morning was fruit, yoghurts, cereals fresh juices only problem the milk for cereals was not cold but was warm. There is a taxi rank outside of the hotel. But we decided to get the hotel to arrange a taxi to take us to the port for our cruise. MY only critisism is that in our room the lock on the door to the balcony didnt work properly and it was on a busy, noisy road. would i stay in this hotel again YES if i was able to have a room not on the main road side.

Good, very clean hotel with excellent friendly staff in fairly central location with good public transport close by. Also free internet access. However unfortunately the air conditioning only operates for 6 months from May 1st, so if you visit outside this period as we did and the weather is unusually hot it can be stifling! The only solution was to sleep with the window wide open and we then had to put up with quite a lot of traffic noise. Everything else has a plus but this lets it down.

I give a weakly positive recommendation here due to the small room and the AC that did not seem to work. Our room was on the back side of the motel, away from the traffic noise on the front street so noise was no problem. That was good since we could open a window to get a cool breeze at night. The AC made some noise, but no cold air came out. Maybe I was working it incorrectly, but I don't think so. The front staff try to be helpful and can give directions, tour tickets and so on. We used some Air Miles to purchase Best Western cash cards, so our stay was free.

Our room was small, but this is typical in Barcelona or any other big city in Europe. The bed was fine, the bathroom clean and efficient. A little noisy at night with people trudging up and down the stairs and opening and closing the floor access doors. This was probably a few late night party people.

The hotel is located next to metro station, therefore the city centre is few minutes away. If you prefer taxi, there are always 5 to 10 cars waiting outside the hotel. The hotel has a free wi-fi connection as well as the internet terminal. The room was ok. Has a balcony, not to much noise from the outside.

Good service, nice location (near Sagrada Familia), clean, not very expensive, but very very small room.

It's quite ok for 2 or 3 days, sufficient to rest and recover for next day of sightseeing or work,

The staff is very nice and tries to help.

This was a nice hotel, modern and clean, decent beds. The room was exceptionally small I found, even by European standards, but still comfortable with a small balcony. I had read other reviews that mentioned poor sound-proofing and I thought I could handle it and surely it couldn't be THAT bad.... well, it is. You can hear every noise from the street, even people talking. I could hear the light switches in the next room being flicked on and off. The walls really are paper-thin. I would be hesitant to stay here again for that reason but at the same time the staff was great, it was clean and in a good location so maybe I would just bring earplugs next time.
