We went in Winter and loved the sun soaked warm winter beach. There are nice sitting areas. Crowd was great as well. What makes it convenient is that it is super close to the main city and lined with really nice though expensive eateries.

We’ve been to Barcelona many times, but never the Barcelona beach area.
We were surprised just how close it was to the port and city centre. Parking is not so easy, but there are two parks closer to the port and then you walk about 10 minutes.
The beach front is nice, with many sand artists making creations bedside the boardwalk.

The Barceloneta is a beautiful beach. Very clean. Great for going for a walk along.
There are lots of people sculpting things with the sand.

The people selling bags and t-shirts are no problem at all.

There are some small supermarkets where you can buy some cheap water, and there are some good restaurants and cafes.

It's a great place to watch the sunset.

And by all means, have a ride on the cable car, it's got fantastic views.

Quite a fantastic spread of man made beach. Typical european cafes and gelatos galore. Wonderful to see the sunset over the ocean. Its not that big, so doesn't take much time to explore most of its potential
