I stayed here with family after the business portion of my stay at another nearby hotel ended. We moved here to get into a larger room to accommodate the family and get a bit more vacation-like luxury. We were pleasantly surprised. The room was quite large and well appointed with a king bed, flat screen TV, large marble bath with amenities, mini fridge to hold our own snacks, and a large window overlooking the rear of the hotel. I suggest you ask for a rear-facing room to avoid the darker street front and noise and to also avoid the rooms that open to the internal atrium which has no natural light or air. We were able to open our window to the sun and fresh air because we faced the rear. The rooms are quiet, but a bit hot - not sure why and I've seen others complain about that, too. The staff is very friendly which is good because you have to visit the front desk every 24 hours to get a new WiFi password. One of the best parts of the experience was the hotel's proximity to Passeig De Gracia for shopping, restaurants and Metro access. I did tons of research before settling on this place to meet my price and location requirements, and I recommend it.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the rear are bright and quiet..chose a high floor (4 or 5)

We stayed at St Moritz for three nights and were very satisfied with our visit. The location was excellent. Just right off Passeig de Gracia on which every high end labels have their stores, close to the subway station (Passeig de Gracia) and just a stone's throw to La Rambla (if one is keen on going to that turisty street). La Casa Batllò is only a hundred meters away too. Right across the street from the hotel you'll find Tapas 24, which is a restaurant whose head chef has been trained at El Bulli. You have to have the Bikini sandwhich, which has black truffles in it!! Brilliant!

The room (we stayed in 410) was very clean and big enough. A flat screen TV with 30 channels, a sitting group and king size bed. The bathroom had a bathtub, a toilet and bidé and was quite roomy. If there was anything to complain about it would have been the lack of liquid soap. Instead, they provided those hard soaps that almost turn into wax in your hands. But that's truly a minor thing.

The staff was friendly. The only complaint we had was that the room was very hot. When we told the staff that our AC didn't work, they explained that since the weather was changing (from winter to spring), they had turned off the heat regulator, so there was no hot nor cold air coming from the AC, just "plain air". But the staff quickly provided us with a table fan (without us asking for it), and that did the trick.

The breakfast buffet was better than expected. Breakfast in Southern Europe is usually more just an example of what a breakfast could be, but St Moritz tried to make an effort to really offer their guest REAL breakfast. Three or four kinds of bread, a toaster, a variety of fresh fruits and yohurts. Different kinds of cheeses, jams and cereals and five-ten different kinds of sweet pastries. There were orange, pinapple and grapefruit juices, coffee and tea. Boiled eggs (though very hard boiled ones) and tortilla with potatoes. And, you make additional orders if you wanted.

I would highly recommend this hotel. We will stay here agin if we return to Barcelona. We really enjoyed it.

The hotel is located just north of the La Rambla and also for me on business could walk to the fair I attended in the morning.

The hotel was clean, friendly staff, complementary WLAN and rooms were ok. Still, my main criterias which I look for in a hotel when I travel on business were not fulfilled apart from location. The beds were hard and the pillows very uncomfortable. The airconditioning did not work. It made a lot of noise but no cool air came. The breakfast also was substandard given the rate paid and yes I do realise that its Spain but in comparison not so good even for Spain.

The hotel has a superb location. Central to, well, everything. A block or two to the metro; easy walking distance to La Rambla and of course great restaurants abound. It is, in my opinion, a perfectly fine business person's hotel. The lobby is simple; really just a meeting place. The staff are young, friendly and generally helpful. Because we were there with a large family group we got to see a lot of rooms. Some were better than others; one, billed as non-smoking, smelled terrible. Another had no apparent mechanism to remove moisture from the bathroom so it was musty; but the other five rooms we were just fine.Clean and comfortable. No views, but for the price, it's a more than a good deal. We left Barcelona for awhile and then came back -- to the same hotel -- so we voted with our wallets as well.
