“Loved the building”

Free. Interesting temporary exhibits. Worth a visit just to see the building. Caixa does a beautiful job with museums.

“Worth a visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2012

Free gallery with some interesting exhibitions. There are 4 main exhibition halls and the building itself is pretty nice as well.

“Free Gallery with changing exhibits”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 18, 2012

Worth a visit if you're passing, but you'd definitely get more out of it with an understanding of Spanish as there was very little English translation.

“An interesting, free atraction near Plaza Espanya.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 15, 2012

This converted former factory building now houses art galleries and exhibition halls, located around 10 minutes walk from Plaza Espanya. A roof terrace gives interesting views over the nearby parts of Barcelona.
When we visited there was an interesting exhibition of Mesopotamian artefacts assembled from other world museums together with several other art displays. The exhibits were a little specialised, but the Caixa Forum is worth a visit just to see the buildings and how they have been converted from industrial to artistic use.

“Wonderful, take your time and discover Barcelona's secrets”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 28, 2012

I luv this building and its history from rich to poor to rich again. Originally built as a textile factory, finished in 1911 and designed by the Catalan arquitect Puig i Cadafalch, the Casaramona factory won best building award, then passed on to be a warehouse, then Police Horse stables until finally it was bought by La Caixa and completely renovated in 2002. A super place to lose yourself for a morning it has almost three acres of exhibition space, a media library, auditorium, classrooms and a restaurant.
