A super unexpected pleasure, This is a beautiful building, very helpful staff and so informative on Catalunian art. Set in beautiful surroundings.

Awesome museum, fantastic views, great fountains - well worth the visit! Quick cab ride from downtown, about 15 minutes max!

I arrived here at 2pm on a Saturday, right before the free hours start at 3pm on Saturdays only. So I decided to relax, order a coffee and take in the amazing views of the city from the small square in front of the museum. The free hours started promptly at 3pm and while I was impressed by the excellent collection of Romanesque, Renaissance and Baroque art, I was incredibly disappointed that the sections featuring the modern masters like Picasso and Miró were closed during the free hours. I would have paid for the full ticket if I had known in advance or did some research instead of becoming entranced by the magnificent view. In any case, seeing the El Greco they had was worth the arduous trek up the steep Montjuïc via the tastefully concealed escalators leading up the hill from Plaça de Espanya to the museum. Nicely done, Barcelona.

We climbed to the top and then to the bottom. You simply must take a picture at every level. The fountains and architecture alone make this a must do on your trip.

Came here twice just to sit outside, ear gelato and enjoy the scenic view. I didn't go to into the museum. But why a great place to have this structure. I enter eyed the mountain from the opposite side (beach side) and walked towards this end by getting a chance to see everything on the mountain. WIFI is everywhere so I took the time to FaceTime my family and share the view. So many people, beautiful grounds and structure. Take the time to sit on the steps and enjoy the Magic Fountain show
