This place makes excellent pizza. I always get it to go, so I don't know about the service, but I am always treated well when I go there. The crust is perfect, just a little burned, thin and chewy. The sauce is the perfect mix of sweet and tangy. The 5 cheese is a great blend of cheeses, no one cheese rules the palate. Try it with arugula on top for a Euro more. The prices aren't cheap, but are well matched for the other restaurants in the area. Get it to go and eat it in the roundabout while watching the people of the little Rambla go by.

Mammamia is great place if you want to eat italian food. Pizzas are really good, with thin base and very well cooked in the wood hoven. Price is correct, service is very good the restaurant isn't very big and might became too noisy. Overall a place to go.

We are Italian, and we tried this place recently for the first time. We WILL most likely be back. The place looks a bit sad and we were the only customers, but on the other hand it was Sunday at 8PM, quite early for local standards, on a slow day. The menu has a number of mispelled Italian words, which usually does not bode well if you are looking for 'real' Italian food. Service was fast and corteous, and the waiter was Italian, which for us was a plus. The pizza was all right, not memorable, but definitely as good as many we have had in Italy. Thin crust, good cheese and good tomato. My 'capricciosa' was generously covered with stuff. They cook the pizzas in a wood-burning brick oven, that is, the way it should be done. Prices are a bit below the average for Barcelona. We spent 24 euros for two pizzas, a beer and another soft drink. The place is located next to the Rambla del Poble Nou, a very nice and lively street where you can take a stroll after you had your pizza (it looks like the main 'Rambla' of Barcelona, but without the chaos and the cheesy sellers or useless touristy crap). It is also close to some of the best beaches in Barcelona city, so you can go after a day in the sun. Like I said, nothing memorable, but it's perfectly all right if you want 'real' Italian pizza and we think we will be back.

Quite an unoriginal title. The same can be said for this restaurant. Is this a bad thing? Certainly not - it's simply a statement of fact. Italian restaurants, Asian restaurants, etc... none of these can be original. What of "Authenticity" - well one finds many of these too. There is nothing original about this restaurant but it is truly authentically Italian. If this is what you're after, then, hey, this is an option you may want to consider.

The owner, the waiters, the cooks - all Italian. We actually asked about their nationality and were told they were from all over Italy. The owner himself was from "Bella Napoli" - always nice to hear when eating at a pizza/pasta place.

We tried the oven cooked eggplant in tomatoe pulp sauce and topped by grill-melted parmesan cheese. Delish!! The restaurant does have steaks and fish on the menu, however it's my impression it mainly specialises in pizza and pasta, and would therefore recommend you go for these dishes. I can almost guarantee you'll go for the pizza as the first thing your eyes will catch when you enter is the wood fueled oven pizza, and the pizza makers busy at work in the middle of the restaurant. And my opinion of the pizza? MMM MMM MMM! Since this might not be technical enough, i'll break it down further...

Toppings... well this really involves just putting a number of ingredients on the pizza base. They are also very accomodating with modifying slightly ingredients. I myself am a newly born vegan (hehe). The menu does not cater for "our kind". It does have a vegetarian pizza which as I said, was able to remove mozarella from the list of ingredients it was topped with.

The toppings tasted very fresh, but as I said adding toppings is not a feat itself. Getting the pizza base right is! Here the pizza makers got it right once again. Their pizza based scored at 10 out of max of 10. This little anecdote may further help you understand how good the pizza is; the neighbouring table ordered their pizza (one each)... ate their pizza... and ordered another (note: they didn't seem like they'd been starved or were they gluttons).

The evening was topped off by a good italian coffee and the traditional limoncello.

Our hosts, spoke good Itanyol (Italian/Spanish) and very good English.

I'll close off by saying - this is the second time i've tried it and quality has been consistent. I will definitely keep it in mind when i'm craving an authentic Italian meal!
