“Good location for restaurants and Picasso Museum, but that's it.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 29, 2013

This is not the hotel for you if you like to walk to the sights...they are far. But, Picasso Museum is right in back and a lot of good eateries. Placa Reial is nearby as well as Placa Catalunya.
Bad plumbing in our room, which faced the back. We could not get into our room until 4. Friendly staff. Free wifi and two very nice computers you can use in the lobby. Free bottle of mineral water in the room - first day only. Hotel is overrated, in my opinion.

This hotel is in a great location for exploring barcelona, it's in the gothic quarter only a short walk from all the restaurants at the harbour. The hotel itself is clean, staff are good, and rooms more than adequate for what we wanted and paid for "we only stayed 2 nights prior to going on a cruise so we only used the hotel as a base to explore barcoelona, not as a luxury pampering style stay". We had breakfast each day which had the usual continental style, cooked breakfast, cereals, fruit, pastries "great". The 1st day we had rain and the reception staff gave us umbrellas which saved us from getting soaked".
Only negative I have Is you can sometimes feel the underground which must pass beneath the hotel. But don't let this put you off though.

Ps. The roof bar is good for relaxing at the end of the day with a few cocktails looking out at the great panoramic views over barcelona.

A great location; everywhere easily accessible on foot or by metro. Rooms are on the smallish side as are all city centre hotels. Bathrooms well equipped; powerful, spacious showers with plenty of toiletries provided. Coffee machine in room designed for 'espresso sized cups' so ask for larger breakfast mugs. Take your own coffee as there is a charge after day 1. Did not eat in the hotel as I thought breakfast was overpriced so started each day with breakfast at the cafe directly across the road. Many restaurants in the vicinity so took the opportunity to sample these. Ask for a room away from the main street as this is noisy and impossible to sleep with the window open. The rooftop bar is a bonus with fantastic views across the city. There is also a jacuzzi which was unused during our stay - no privacy and overpriced. The bar in Reception remained closed during our stay - no idea why. Staff pleasant and helpful.

Room Tip: Select a room away from the front. A/c system not terribly effective so a room on the shady side wo...

This was my second stay in this hotel, the first was nearly 5 years ago. Then I took my 6 year old daughter, this time I went with a friend. Both times I wanted somewhere well located that we'd feel safe walking to and from, that was clean and comfortable, offering outside space and a good bar. Both times I got just what I wanted.

The hotel is comfortable, clean and has staff willing to help - though we found not always accurate. The room was on the small side but efficient air con ensured we didn't get too hot. The bathroom was nice with a super shower (over the bath kind), powerful and hot. The towel and robes were clean and thick enough.

The terrace bar is excellent, reasonably priced (by UK standards) and can't be faulted when the sun is shining.

Finally and most importantly the location is perfect. It has everything on its doorstep , easy access to a range of buses, a short walk to all the greatest places and not far from the beach.

This isn't particularly a childrens hotel but my daughter and I loved it 5 years ago and my friend and I thought just as well of it this weekend.

We would definitely recommend it, especially if you can secure a good deal.

Booked for weekend away for Silver Wedding. loved it, amazing. Beach is a short walk straight down the road from the hotel. We stayed in room 804 views over the rooftops and all round fantastic. Sitting in the sun having a drink at the bar on the rooftop as the sun goes down what more could you ask for.
Breakfast fantastic so much to choose from, fry up, cereal, toast, bread, sandwiches, mixed cheeses, hams, croissants, chocolate brownie cake, yoghurts, mixed fruits to choose from. hot drinks, variety of fruit juices to choose from. So much choice you would be stuck for something to like.. We would recommend to anyone to visit hotel and walk the many little alleyways X June 20TH/23RD

Room Tip: Ask for top floor so yo can get sea view, and see all the sights.

We stayed here in may 2013. We loved the hotel. Very nice, clean, the rooftop bar was great and jacuzzi was worth using. Excellent location for nights out. We found our way to all the bars easily and could walk back to the hotel after plenty drinks on our nights out. Only negative was probably that the breakfast buffet wasn't totally great however did the job.

This hotel was such a find! The most ideal location, short walk from the beach/La Rambla/Gothic Quarter (which was just wonderful to get lost in) - so amazing. My boyfriend was most pleased with the breakfast - which was outstanding. A seemingly endless selection of cheeses, pastries, meat, fruit, mini-paninis, doughnuts, juice, as well as cooked breakfast options too. Definitely worth paying for the breakfast. The room was very nice, bathroom was gorgeous, we were on the 7th floor in a corner room - which I chose after reading other reviews, and it was ideal - not noisy at all.
Free wifi was a plus, the only downside was that the aircon didn't seem to be working - but we didn't mention anything as it didn't bother us. The staff were so helpful and friendly as well!

Room Tip: Ask for a room high up in a corner (ours was bigger as a result)
