We stayed here for four nights prior to our cruise. Although it is not in the heart of the tourist area, we found an extraordinary street next to the hotel that had plenty of shopping and quaint cafes to each delicious meals.

The property was very clean, staff were pleasant and helpful (provided an adapter w/o charge) and it's near the local metro station which should be used often instead of expensive taxis!

The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept like babies each night.

This hotel is located outside of the main tourist areas but it is easily reachable using the metro, or if you have time by walking along the beach.
It is a fresh new hotel and good value compard to central Barcelona. It compares well with the nearby Holiday Inn Express (although that offers free breakfast, but it costs €12 at the Fourpoints), but the Fourpoints was notable for fast free WIFI and a large comfortable bed (a proper kind matress).
Lots of bars and restaurants nearby alongside lots of bakeries, it is a nice neighbourhood.

It's a nice hotel, nothing fancy but it's clean and has everything you need. The beds were very comfortable and the room was spotless.
Breakfast was nice and reasonably priced (12€ per person, other hotels charge twice as much).
The drinks at the bar are very inexpensive and they have sofas there, so it's nice to have a nightcap there after a long day of sightseeing. Be prepared to speak Spanish to the barstaff though, you'd think they should speak basic English but they don't. Housekeeping staff, on the other hand, does speak English, which is very helpful if you need something and not very common. Front Desk staff was very nice and helpful and paying attention to details.

The only downside is that the location is not very central, so you will always need public transport to get anywhere. The metro system in Barcelona is very good and you never have to wait more than 4 minutes, so it's ok.

all in all it's a good solid hotel, definitely excellent value for money and I would absolutely recommend it! If you're an SPG Member you can get rooms from 3000 points per night, which is also an excellent deal (in other SPG hotels you get one breakfast for this amount... ).

Room Tip: ask for a room at the end of the corridors as the rooms near the elevators can be quite noisy.

we spent two nights in this hotel before boarding a cruise. the lobby is a little small and the lines can get a bit long for check out or asking general questions (i.e. for a city map) but it's a clean, modern space. the rooms were surprisingly larger than we expected. we booked a triple room. the room had a king size bed and a roll in cot. even with the cot we still had plenty of room to walk around. the room/bathroom was very clean. they even provided free water! :) one downside --- no free wifi. also, it was a bit far to the metro but bus stops were right outside. our room was on the 9th floor so we had a fantastic view of sagrada familia. it was very quiet and we had plenty of restaurants with different types of food to choose from. the beds were comfortable and the linens were soft and clean smelling. would recommend this hotel to everyone especially for the price!

Room Tip: if possible, ask for a room overlooking the street. it's quiet and the views are incredible. w...

Positive: The hotel is clean and neat and the staff is courteous and friendly. The hotel is near the University and there are a lot of good restaurants nearby.
Negative: the traffic is a bit noisy, but this is not a major problem.

We stayed at the Four Points on our recent trip to Barcelona in September 2012. I thought the location was pretty good. They do not advertise themselves as being right in the city center, but it is well connected by the tram, bus and metro systems. The Glories mall across the street was a great place to find food and there is a large grocery store there too. The Poble Nou neighborhood was quite nice. There are lots of shops and local bakeries which are much cheaper and higher quality than what you will find in the city center.

The hotel room itself was fine. It was clean and seemed to be updated fairly recently. The towels smelled a little funny to me, but maybe I am not used to Spanish laundry detergent. The shower could have used a good scrubbing now and then, but for the most part the bathroom was fairly clean. Overall, I would probably stay here again. It seems to be a really good value for Barcelona.
