The hotel location was excellent. Close to two metro stations, reached a very different attractions. Ramblas was a short walk away.

The service was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were modern and clean and the rooms did not belong to the traffic noise, as well as Wi-Fi access was good and fast. The roof terrace was spectacular scenery over the city. Breakfast was good value for money.

We are happy to recommend this hotel to others, we are very pleased that we chose this hotel a number of available options. When we come back from Finland to Barcelona, we know what hotel we choose!

Have just come back from a 2 night stay at the Andante in Barcelona, we arrived and straight away we loved it the outside and reception is so modern and the staff were so friendly and helpful and speak really good English. We were provided with maps and things were highlighted which were great tourist attractions which was really helpful as we had never visited barcelona before. The rooms were great, modern with televisions and in some hotels where you couldn't wait to get out of the hotel we were happy spending some times in there after a long afternoon of walking around. The view of Barcelona from the top floor where the swimming pool is, is priceless, absolutely incredible. I loved Barcelona and will definitely be visiting again and the Andante is where I will be staying!

This is a great new hotel with really good English speaking staff, who were eager to help even when under pressure. (A good sign) My experience with hotels is that they are usually only as good as the staff that they employ and the Andante is certainly well placed here.

The Rooms were fastidiously cleaned every day and the room was always at the right temperature. The room was spacious and tastefully decorated with a fabulous bathroom.
Every room has a safe which is easy and free to use.

If you stay here, be sure to visit the roof terrace for a taste of the stunning views across Barcelona. Absolutely superb. There is a pool here that butts up to a Hidden gully and a large glass safety screen, but when you photograph it, it appears as though the pool edge is on the verge of a sheer drop! Amazing
The Andante is also very well place for the bustling Las Ramblas area but just far enough off it to have a peaceful night. The Marina area is just a 5 minutes stroll away too.

Conclusion: The Andante Barcelona certainly punches above its weight and represents great value for money. I would certainly stay there again.

Brand-new hotel (June 2012) decked out in style in glass, minimalist grays and metallic tones. The friendly, efficient and knowledgeable staff are superb. A warm counterpoint to the cool decor.
The location is marvellous. A five minute walk to the bustling Las Ramblas, the Columbus statue and Marina area and half a minute more to the delightful squares and alleyways of the gothic quarter with it's myriad restaurants and bars. Travelling to the more distant sites for which Barcelona is famed? No problem with the Tube station a minute from the door.
The rooms themselves are small, as you would expect. However they feature good quality fittings and are ingeniously designed to maximise the space available and very clean. Soundproofing is excellent too.
The top floor features a large decked area with a small infinity pool and the most amazing panorama spread out below.
Take the lift down to the sub-floor and a small gym of bikes/treadmills is found.
SECURITY! A major concern in barcelona, is taken seriously. Access to the hotel is by your digital keycard. This also is necessary to operate the lift and to enter your room. The room itself has a digital safe for documents, valuables and ipads etc! WiFi is free and effective.
I did not use the restaurant but a cursory glance shows a typical buffet/self service set-up.
Value for money was outstanding and in summary I would say the definitive city-centre budget hotel. Well done!

The hotel is located 250m from the Drassanses stop on the green line of the Metro, on the site of the former Hotel Millenni (rip) was and is a five- minute walk from Ramblas, eight minutes walk to the best Tapas place in Spain, Irati. It is in a quiet block but very convenient to central Barcelona. Short walk to the water, three stops from Pl. Espanya, two from Catalunya, very easy to get anywhere fast.
It is very new, with a modern, almost minimalist décor. Security is good (always a factor in Barcelona) and you need your RFID key card to enter the hotel and to get the elevator to go to your floor. There is a swimming pool on the 11th floor with an “infinity” view over the Barrio Gotic, nicely done if a bit small, and a small gym in the basement with Livestrong equipment.
My room, based on the floor plan on the wall, was the smallest on the floor, and it was indeed rather small. Minor annoyances included hangers with the little straight rod which has to be inserted into the slot on the rings which cannot be removed from the hanger bar – I HATE those; a very cold floor but no slippers; liquid soap only (makes shaving a real task); no headboard on the bed (pillow slipped off to the floor a couple of times). The water is “soft” water, which people either like or don’t – I don’t care for it but if you like it, that’s a plus.
Those are the complaints, all minor. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well there. The window kips open so you can enjoy fresh air, and it is quiet. The closet is certainly large enough, and has floor to ceiling shelves as well, a nice touch. There is an in- room, six- digit safe large enough for all but the biggest of laptops.
Breakfast is the typical Spanish buffet. Decent fresh fruit, VERY good patates, so- so- coffee from a machine, good pastries, very good Spanish bacon. The breakfast room has big glass on two walls with a view to the courtyard, which would be very pleasant in warmer months (it was 5C all week in the morning, unseasonably cool.)
The room was a rip-off at 200€ per night, but during the mobile phone conference week every hotel does the same. Regular rates are about half that, quite reasonable given the location and that it is new and everything works.
All in all, if you do not mind a small room and some minor annoyances, it makes a very nice place to kip on a few nights stay, in an excellent location and at a reasonable price.
