Simple but nice hotel with a good location. The pool on the roof is very small, but you get good view of the city from there.

We stayed for 6 nights in Andante hotel in July and loved it. It is close to everything, we walked everywhere, and still it is off the massive crouds of La Rambla, in the multicultural neighborhood of El Raval. Also much cheaper than on La Rambla, or the more touristy areas. Skip the 12 euro breakfast - we found our favorite café on Rambla del Raval just around the corner, where we had our breakfast every day. The pool is lovely and has a lovely view, and even though it's small it's still big enough for an afternoon swim. After all, we did not go to Barcelona to stay in the pool all day. Highly recommendable and good value hotel.

Nice clean modern hotel in a good location. Great view from the pool looking over Barcelona but ridiculous size - more like a big bath with a building full of people (the hotel is a tower) surrounded around it. Gym is a bit weak as well - two cross trainers and a multi use machine.

Overall however - good value.

An absolutely new hotel opened in June 2012. Having stayed here 3 nights I've made a list of what I liked and disliked about it:
+ Likes:
1) Location. The hotel’s in the very middle of the city, close to everything, but in a quiet place. 3 minutes on foot to the metro station (tip: go the same way to Las Ramblas, otherwise you have to pass rather dirty streets)
2) Cleanliness & quietness. The hotel is very clean, modern and very quiet.
3) Good value for money. I don’t know what pricing they’re going to have in the future but I paid an extraordinary low price (it was a special offer, though)
4) The views from the terrace are impressive. There’s also a swimming pool there (but it's tiny)
5) Suppose, you can get a good view from your room as well (ask for that in advance! there wasn't any one left for me, so I got a room facing the inner side and it wasn't impressive at all)
- Dislikes:
1) What I absolutely dislike about this hotel is the way its windows are designed. There are certain bars which block the view and make you feel as if you’re in prison.
2) The breakfast is at extra cost - 12 EUR – rather expensive if you eat little. There’s a vending machine and a coffee machine on the ground floor, but I wouldn’t say the quality of drinks is very high and there are no healthy options from the vending machine. There are many little shops nearby but there’s no fridge or mini-bar in the room, so you can’t keep yoghurt or cheese or whatever in the room.
3) Too dark, to my taste. Very dark corridors... Rooms in black, grey and white give you a cold feeling. The picture above the bed doesn't help... The design is stylish, though.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view - the higher floor the better!!! Otherwise you may end up in a room overl...

We stayed at this hotel after our cruise which ended in Barcelona. The hotel's location is fantastic - less than 5 mins. walk to the Metro. We actually could have walked from the port to the hotel but took a taxi because of heavy luggages. It's right next to La Rambla. It's a minimalist hotel - very simple black and white decor, very modern, clean lines. We had a good sized room. You have to insert your key into an activation pad to turn on the lights and air-condition so ask for 2 keys so that you can keep the air-cond. on while you're out. Staff was excellent - gave us info on metro tickets, directions to places.Free wi-fi was great and there were dispensers for drinks and snacks in the lobby. Small details - the lobby didn't seem to be air-conditioned so it was pretty warm and they did not provide tissue paper or shower caps.

I have just returned home from Barcelona and stayed at Andante Hotel for 4night. Location of this hotel was excellent. Very close to all major attraction, few mins walk away from the metro, plenty of restaurants around. About 30mins walk to the beach but it was a pleasant walk to the beach. It wasn’t hard to find at all just got to make sure you walk the right way.

Only disadvantage about this hotel the top roof swim pool is VERY SMALL with 5-6 people in the pool you will end up in each other way. Only 5 sun beds which were not enough for people over the entire top roof far too small. But amazing view over looking Barcelona

We had two rooms book at this hotel, my room was perfect however my other friends room had pooling air con was not working hotel reception, said they will send someone to fix it, they then told us it was fix went back to the room the room has no air con still, they were fully booked to offer another room for my friends to stay in, in the end they had no air con for 4night which was not pleasant and the hotel did not care about it, they would not offer any discount for them or not even free breakfast during the stay. they only offered free showers after we checked out and returned to the hotel before heading to airport which normally cost 5euros and you had to shower in a disable toilet which was located next to the baggage storage room.

The corridors were extremely dark! Can barely see the number on the door, however after the first day the corridor seem to brighten up, must think due to amount of complaint it was far to dark. As the entire interior was BLACK/DARK GRAY.

Room Tip: must bring own shower cap if you need one, they dont provide any. must also bring own shampoo and sh...

We stayed here for 4 nights and took advantage of an opening offer which was a bargain. The hotel is in a great location - 5 mins from both the port and Las ramblas and a few mins from the metro station. It's also nearby to some cheaper (than ones near the centre of Barcelona) supermarkets and also a little pastry shop around the corner which is remarkably cheap in comparison to Barcelona prices - although you will need to know basic Spanish! The hotel is very simple and doesn't describe itself to be anything but this. We didn't have the breakfast so can't comment on that. The rooftop pool had a great view, although the sunbeds were always full. Would definitely stay here again.
