First of all the name is not Baluard Bakery. The name is Baluard Barcelona, it just happens to be a bakery. The street name is Balaurd and it's about five blocks down from the beach, once you reach a little public square it's just another 20 meters or so on the left.

All (or many) local sandwich shops, restaurants, supermarkets etc. buy their breads and pastries from this place so obviously they are the best in the area. I tried a lot of different things from spinach croissants to brownies (really good!) to their "pizza" (not so good :). But all in all, it is an excellent bakery.

Another thing that makes it so special is all the staff are incredibly helpful, so eager to please and speak English.

We stayed in a self catering apartment near here and got breakfast fresh each day. There is a very good selection of bread and pastries and the staff are friendly and helpful. Very reasonably priced.

Baked produce as good as I've had anywhere, beautiful displays, and friendly service. All in all, an excellent find so close to our holiday apartment.

This was our closest bakery during our time in Barceloneta.
Really good apricot/fig/nut bread at €8/kilo, they will cut the bread in two or four pieces, so you can have your desired size and also slice it up for you.
We bought sandwiches here for our trip to Montserrat.
No language issues whatsoever, they were kind to me.
Try it out.

Do you stay in the Barceloneta neighborhood, or you pass the neighborhood to visit the beach? Then you should get you're breakfast or lunch here. (Take it away and eat it on the beach.)

Truly delightful!
