Stayed within a few hundred metres of the park so a casual stroll was easy done. Very dry when we visited so would not say the park was in peak condition. The showpiece is the fountain and on a sunny day it is an outstanding feature. Would have to say that the Retiro park in Madrid is much more interesting and colourful so if you are going to both cities make sure you visit Retiro.

Spent a leisurely afternoon just snacking on a nice picnic lunch and strolling the grounds which are not just one park .. but what seems to be several parks within a park.

Every path takes you to a new area with a whole venue of new sights to appreciate from the zoo to great fountains to beautiful wide open spaces to a stately Parliament building. I am sure you get my point wildlife to architecture to untouched nature to stately monuments.

Also ran the park every morning while in town great paths and quite peaceful and serene in the early morning hours.

A must for anyone who wants a short break from the hustle and bustle of the metropolis.

Here is my tip don't forget your camera many wonderful photo opportunities around every turn of a path.

A fabulous green space just to the east of the old town and literally across the road from our hotel. The Cascade Fountain is another must-see, although unfortunately when we were there the fountains weren't working. Many trees and shrubs and elegant walkways, together with the palms which are full of parakeets and cockatoos give this park a special charm and atmosphere - and at the top end you can walk up to the Arc de Triomph! One of the best spaces we saw in this amazing city.

This ia huge park in the city. Close to the beach as well. In the Born district a lovely place to relax and watch people go by. When you feel you need abreak from concrete sidewalks a lake a botanical garden and the Barcelona zoo is also part of it. The park is free but the is a fee for the zoo.
