Owner description: Ride to the top, and you'll see! The Columbus Monument which was dedicated in 1888 as part of the ceremonies marking the Universal Exhibition, stands at the end of La Rambla of Barcelona, near the sea. Take the lift inside the column to the viewing gallery at the top, a viewpoint 60 meters above the ground, where you can enjoy great views of Barcelona.

Doesn't take long an can easily be seen once you complete the walk down Los ramblas. Sits right on the port and makes for good picture taking

Its at the end of La Rambla, and close to Port Vell, it really is very hard to miss.
After looking at the pictures I had imagined it to be of a certain hietght but It was taller that I thought.
We spent 15 mins at the Monument appreciating it and taking pictures, then headed to L'Aquarium, which is walkable from here.
No tickets needed to see it. There is a flee market across the street on the side of Port Vell, its good to take a walk there too, checking out collectibles that you rarely in shops.

You can see the Columbus Monument as soon as you come out of Las Ramblas. The view was spectacular by the monument, however the monument itself is nothing special. You get a great view of the sea and all of the palm trees! Also agree with the other comments that it would be a good meeting spot since it's very noticeable.

Had an estactic time in la Rambla. Beautiful people, amazing shops and great variety of food. The Columbus Monument is so spectacular; it looks like its moving when you look up.
