“A walk back in time to the Romans”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2013

A wonderful insight into the life and times of Barcelona in Roman times taking you underground through the streets and sights as they were during Roman occupation. English audio guide is recommended.

“Neat museum”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 24, 2013

The museum walks you through the history of Barcelona, literally, as there is an excavation site underneath the museum through which you walk through!

“Happy accident to end up here!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2013

While wandering at night, we heard singing and followed it to end up here. A hundred or so people were gathered dancing traditional group dances to music performed by a few musicians and accompanied by a children's choir. Catalonia at its finest!

“Worth a visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2013 via mobile

Free if you have a barcelona card. Gives you a good idea of the beginnings of the city and let's you tour the ruins underground, which are quite fascinating. One of the more noteworthy museums in the city.

“Disappointed in my "free" entry to History Museum”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2013

First, the museum is free after 3pm on Sundays, but what they don't tell you is that you can't get the audio guide even if you want to pay for it. Had I known that, i would have gone on a different day. Another reviewer brought up the issue of not all displays have explanations in English. They also show a video in a separate room, but that was also only in Spanish/Catalan. Having said all that, yes it was fascinating for a while, but I was glad to see the exit sign coming up. I also agree with another reviewer who said it lacked humanity. Im glad i saw it, but think I would have had a different experience with the audio guide and all the displays and video in English.
