“A Roman Excavation in the Basment!”
Reviewed May 24, 2012

There are various displays on the development of Barcelona into a great city. We enjoyed the special exhibit on the fabric printing industry in Barcelona. The most interesting section was the extensive Roman excavation underneath the building with walkways and interpretive stations built right over the site. Well worth a visit!

“Great if you like Roman ruins”
Reviewed May 20, 2012

Basically this is almost entirely underground ruins of a section of a Roman city, which is how Barcelona pretty much started. And when I say ruins, I mean ruins, partial walls and foundations of buildings, etc. If you like history, you will be hooked. If not, you are in the wrong place.

“Interesting”
Reviewed May 20, 2012

A lovely square in the centre of the Barri Gotic (Gothic Quarter) of Barcelona, a short walk from the Cathedral, La Rambla and the port area. With its 16th-century watch-tower, it is recommended for history and architecture buffs who I'm sure could spend at least an hour wandering around. As another reviewer has said - there is nothing very touristy here but it is still worth a visit.
