“Grand Princess of Barcelona”

This was our second stay (last time in August 2008) and much better than the first. The VIP Club on the 18th Floor - we were looked after magnificently. The Staff are the best selling point of any hotel and this was GRAND.
The dining - buffet style was fantastic and our waiter Jose Organista who's been with the Hotel for the past 23 years was on hand to service all our needs. I recall Jose serving us 5 years ago - such was his class - one remembers fine dining experiences - just like the ones that are not so fine!

Room Tip: Pay for the effort of being on the Club Floor (18th) and enjoy the hospitality, dining from breakfa...

Rooms tired, boring and not all that comfortable. Big enough but in no way luxurious. Reception the same.
Desk staff are friendly and helpful; the hotels biggest selling point.
Now to the breakfast:
they do not give you a tray and the plates are so small you will need to do many trips. There is ALWAYS a queue for a table. There is one toaster, for 500 rooms!! One morning, fried egg on toast took me over ten mins to fetch!! The meats and cheeses are of the lowest possible quality. The ham is super-cheap reformed. The chorizo has no flavour. The bacon has bone in it and is also terrible. The eggs are not free range. The pastrys are tiny and cheap, with no fillings; plain pastry only folks - actually, there is a tiny apple one, but it is vile - and half the fruit is tinned. Oh, and the scrambled eggs are powdered. OJ is nice, though.
This is absolutely not a five star. Think low 4 or good 3 star and that is what you get for £200 a night.
Also, there is nearly always a queue in reception.
Not worth the money.

The hotel was very nice.
The service that we got from the receptionist Ewelima Domanus was excellent.
The first room we got was not so good but she helped us and replaced it to a very nice room.
The swimming pool was excellent also.
The breakfast is very good.

Would I stay here again - yes. Was my stay enjoyable - yes. In summary, if you want a hotel not quite in the heart of the Rambla, this is a great place. If you want to go clubbing and stumble back to your hotel, this is not the one. It is close to everything and very convienent.

I spent 10 nights here at this hotel in a mix of business and pleasure. After 10 days, I was still looking forward to coming back to the hotel. It is in a nice area, about a 5 minute walk from the Camp Nou Football Stadium, is a stop on the Barclona City Sight Seeing Tour (Stop 14 red line), is a 5 minute walk to the L3 Metro line at Santa Maria, and from there, a 15 minute ride to the Rambla, Sagrada Famalia, etc. I ate breakfast here almost every day, and it was good. The beergarden restaurant in the hotel was okay at best, but this is Barcelona, so I should eat tapas!!! The hotel area is quiet, and you can just about anywhere by taxi in 5-15 minutes. The staff were very friendly. It is also near a very nice hospital, ESADE university, and a some other neat landmarks, and a 5 minute walk away from the most upscale area in Barcelona.

The room was nice and clean. The bed was okay at best. The one thing I didn't like about the hotel is that I didn't have an iron and the laundry service was very expensive - 13 Euro for a shirt (I think 6 Euro to just press it!!). I was here for 10 days and not having a washer or dryer for guests was a little hard to take. Thankfully there were lots of hangers so my clothes could dry in the sun after washing them in the sink.

the hotel is very good very clean thought needs a renovation. The hotel is very busy because its the only 5 star hotel right next to the stadium. The hotel price is good as you get the chance to see and take pictures with the players because they always stay in it. If you want to attend a match you should stay in princess's sofia. Though to mention the staff may be sometimes rude if there is a lot of people and your
