This was a perfectly adequate and very very cheap hotel. I stayed in it in November 2001 when it was around ÂŁ14 per night for a room with three beds - although I had asked for a double room, I always find that in Spain they give you separate beds. Maybe I'm not asking the right questions! It is very central - just off Las Ramblas on the Barri Gotic side. It's a nice enough square, with an ok but touristy restaurant below it. The room was clean, with our own bathroom, although it was very easy to flood the bathroom with the shower - which my partner managed every day! However, the real problem he suffered was the crusties who inhabited the Placa Reial in the evenings. Basically, people with whistles and drums decide to play loudly outside your room all night - that's where that whole Spanish evenings start late thing is really annoying. At least I learnt the Castilian for "ear plugs" - but he found it quite difficult. If you are a light sleeper (unlike me!) I would think twice about this place. But otherwise, it was great, and is certainly a good budget option.More
