Very friendly pension, with view on the beautiful 'Palau de la Musica', in a lively and very central area. We were there with our two sons; had two bedrooms in the same 'appartment', decorated in sunny colours, with a nice clean bathroom and pleasant shower. Owners are very friendly and inviting; we could even install our bicycle on the terrace! They also helped us find our way to the parking, and to our next destination. In the evenings you can sit in the lounge, watch tv, read or use internet, in a cosy ambiance. When you leave the house, you are just in front of one of the most impressing buildings of Barcelona. Don't miss a visit or concert there!
The only missing thing is a good airco; although there was a fan in both rooms it was warm inside, and with the windows open sometimes too noisy to get a good nightsleep... Still it is a very recommendable place for a visit of Barcelona, and very appropriate for families. We felt at home there!

We had a great experience at Pension 2000 in Barcelona during our recent vacation. With its location right across the street from the historic music theater it was easy to find. You just have to be aware that since it is in a historical building that the sign for the pension is a small sign about eye height on the door jam. Our room was perfect for our 3 person family -- including a table, small refridgerator and coffee service. Most important, it was spotless. The proprietor is friendly and was very helpful during our stay. We loved the fresh squeezed orange juice for breakfast. With its central location we were able to walk or metro to all the sights we wanted to see during our stay.

I arrived a day late after a flight cancellation but Orlando & Manuela at Pensio 2000 were as accommodating as ever despite my delay. This was my first visit to Spain, I felt at home immediately. Any questions I had as a newcomer they answered. A limited but diverse breakfast is offered for a small charge to begin your day and the coffee is delicioso - something for everybody. The computer on site came in very handy including the printer. Orlando even helped me with Barça tickets for a game sold out. Maybe I was 'special' but that is just how they make their guests feel.

The location can’t be beat. Public transportation is readily available and much is walk able. A lovely area close to good food, shopping, and cultural attractions while the Barcelona ‘vibe’ is just close enough without being intrusive.

I’ll be back and keep spreading the word. Thanks for everything!

This is a great pensione. We stayed for a week in late June 2011 and it was perfect - just like being at home. Definitely NOT like staying in a hotel, which is exactly what we want. Orlando and Manuela and the rest of the family are very welcoming and helpful. Terrific, central position and great breakfast. There's a climb up two flights of stairs to get to the place, but it's worth every step.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony over the street.

We just returned from a fabulous trip to Spain and spent our last evening in Barcelona. We decided to stay in a B&B instead of a hotel - but a hotel would have been much better. The hosts were ok, as previous reviews stated they are not overly friendly, but not too bad. However, when we checked in we were told of many rules. Especially regarding noise - and how after 8pm we needed to be very quiet as the entire house went to bed. We were in room 6 so we had doors to the terrace (which we were told not for our personal use) - but siince it was warm, we had the door open. We were specifically told to keep our voices down as we might have someone call the police on us if we talked too loud. This actually proved very ironic seeing as we were awoken at midnight by the neighbors loud voices and conversation that kept us up until after 2 am! I was wondering where the police were then!

Also worth noting, this is listed as a B&B, but breakfast was not included - it was an additional 5 Euros if we wanted it - and even then we needed to order the evening before. Reading the reviews of the breakfasts we chose to eat out.

In general, if you are just looking for a place to lay your head at the end of the day, I would get a cheap hotel. If you are looking for a B&B - look elsewhere. In fact, I am not sure what type of traveler this place caters to except some guy trying to make extra money.
